Hey everyone, I was trying to decide which brand of exhaust to put on my 05 xB.

I like my magnaflow axleback from www.precisionmuffler.com

The oval muffler they use for the auto model looks good and sounds good, IMO. Doesn't drone at freeway speeds like a lot of the canister type mufflers do. And the price is nice too.

the DC sports on my RS2 sounds perfect. So i'd just have to suggest that. The only other exhaust i've owned was a tanabe SRM on my turbocharged 02 civic, but it had a *tuners tone* meaning it let you know it wasn't a slow car, which wouldn't go well with the box IMO

I would go w/ either Strup, Injen or Magnaflow.

The cheapest route is Magnaflow. Their Street Series ovals can be had for a good price online and installed at a shop that provides the piping for around $200 total. Performance Peddler has some good prices on Magnaflow.

I have a custom Magnaflow exhaust on my xB thanks to Michael's Mufflers, and will go w/ Strup or Injen on the xA.

Default Borla exhaust

I drove a RS2.0 and I did like the DC tunable. I went with the Borla pipe cause I've always wanted their product. It is a low note and about the same loudness as the DC, no tuner farting/raspiness. I think it has the best looking tip and will probably outlast the car. My first two tanks of gas with the stock muffler returned mpgs of 34.7 and 35.6 while the latest tank with the Borla let out 39.7! I'm sure there are other factors but one of the biggest advantages is the exhaust is nicer to listen to at highway speeds than the buzzy engine. They have good pics of it at Borla's website, it was $300 shipped from Cali, and I put it on myself in about 25 minutes.

i really like the DC sports mine came with. can't complain as it came stock. has a nice low note and pops when i downshift. i mean seriously, i think i could've done way worse from a stock muffler

custom blows all other systems out of the water . more performance , cheaper , you can get any tip you want and you can make it loud or near stock sounding.

holy crap the Gen 2 precision mufflers axle back sounds AMAZING. i put it on myself in my friends driveway. lots of bass and NO resonation. tone almost dissapears at cruising speed. and the popping! it pops between shifts and slowing down and NEVER gets annoying. i LOVE it. ill post pics soon.

Well, I was the prototype for the Auto Axleback and now I'm running the only known (as far as we can tell) passanger side exiting exhaust system.

Stylis does great work and can really design them!

Precision Muffler, you've seen every one else who has one and how happy they are with it. Gabe definitely treats people right and creates a solid product
