i am going to buy a magnaflow muffler and want to paint it black. what paint i have to buy???

im sorry man i dont know. mufflers get pretty damn hot. i would say try some high heat/temp paint. if that doesnt work, maybe powdercoat??

is there any spray brake paint. all that i can find are to paint with a brush

 

i found this paint in summit racing. it says that resist 1500F.

id ruff up the can first with sand paper to get all the bling off the do as you would and so forth and so on

 

i've thought about painting my exhaust black also. fly under the radar, man.

 

VHT makes killer paint. That would be a winner. Make sure you prep the surface for a permanent stick

I think its just gonna burn the paint to nothing. Our cars run over 3000 at freeway speeds.

 

I wouldn't paint, but that's just me.

You'll have to get some really high temp stuff for the muffler.

If you're getting a Magnaflow oval, the muffler shop you are going to should be able to tuck it up nicely so the majority of the muffler is out of sight.

 

You would have to sand down the finish and then paint it ... I doubt it will stick, between the heat and road grim I don't think it will last more then a month or so ... Then once it starts flaking off its gonna look like CRAP! ... Good luck!

Not saying it would last, but it seems like the headers have got to run hotter than the muffler and that paint is designed for that...

 

actually 1500 degree paint will burn off headers like no tommorrow . mufflers on the other hand get hottest at like 1100 or less so.......... it would work fine and most of those are thick paints so flaking should not happen as long as you sand the muff first.
