Default What other car would you get???

If there was no scion brand or you were actually looking at other cars, which one would you get. And why didnt you get it if you were ones that looked at others b4 the xb??

For me it was between the xB and the Mazda 3. I picked the xB because it was cheaper.

I looked at other cars, particularly high-end sports coupes and sedans. However, I decided that there's not enough room here for spirited driving, so it didn't make much sense to spend a lot of money for something I don't enjoy much (sharing the road with buttheads who have no idea about the rules of the road).

Since I HAVE to drive, I fixed up my Scion so it's fun and put my company logos on it to get some mileage out of... well, my mileage. This is my first import and I'm having fun with it. I have a hotrod Jag and a Spitfire fitted with a GT6 engine in my garage, but the Xb is my daily driver.

I was going to get the Honda CR-V, but for their prices used, I figured I could get the xB new, and it has the same interior feel.

I was looking at the Mini, the Honda CR-V, and the Element as well as the xB - I play string bass, and need something with decent room inside (yes, believe it or not, you can get a string bass in a Mini Cooper! ). The Mini was just a bit too small and has some technical problems, the CR-V was just too... I dunno, blah, and the Element gets crappy gas mileage compared to the xB. Plus something about the xB just kept calling to me. I've had it for a month now and I couldn't be happier! Except for the fact that it seems like my husband's been driving it more than I have... *grumble grumble*

I was considering a Mazda3, Civic coupe, Accord coupe, Camry and Altima.
I think if I hadn't had the Scion choice, I'd have gotten a 3.

i would get the Toyota Echo. reason? its 100% made in Japan like my Tercel. i reason i didnt get the Echo is because it doesnt have the standard accessories like the xB does. if i add all the accessories to the Echo like the xB has, it will cost (i think) more than the xB because xB has pure pricing...

I'll get a MINI MCS. I am actually planning on keeping the xB and getting a 2008 MCS.

Matrix Base or XR model - Monthly payments is higher than my xB. Lack of standard features. Insurance will go up.

Elantra GT HB - Monthly payments is higher than my xB. Lack of standard features. Insurance will go up. Not a wagon. The rear lightgate is too much of an angle to be practical.

Echo - Lack of standard features. Insurance will go up. The VSC and TRAC safety features and the fact the xB is classified as a Van by State Farm lowered my insurance premiums. Not a wagon. Try to fit a 27" TV still inside the box, inside a sedan. Not practical.

I got the xB mostly because it reminded me of the cars that I loved in Japan that I couldn;t get here. like the Nissan Cube

and the Diahatsu Naked

I was stoked when we got the bB... I heard somewhere that the Cube is scheduled for relaese in the US in 2007...
