F***ed up my car. I suck at life.
I was on the highway with 3 of my friends in the car. I lost control around a turn, cut a highway marker in half, skidded across the grassy median to the other side on on coming traffic, then luckily no one hit me and i went to the shoulder.
All underneath and right side rims filled with grass. Front bumper and hood damaged. Right rims damaged and tires blown, missing the circle thing in the front bumper, and also some aluminum under the car is shredded. I don't know if it is that important.
Car starts and runs fine though. So lucky none of my friends were hurt and that the air bags didn't go off.

I don't know I didn't think I was going that fast and the road curved so I was slowing down and then it just skidded. The tire marks are still there. Ive also noticed going around turns at a not that fast speed the tires squeal. I had the potenzas ::edit:: I think thats them.
Also I spun around I know that cause the grass was all in the right side. The road was fine though and not wet. Nice and warm.

Yea this car doesn't have TCS. I don't know yet on the fix. Im paying it my self, no insurance involved and I don't need to get anything in the front fixed yet. Just the rims and tires and the undercarriage. Not sure on the price.
I might now just sell my old rims and get a new set for less money. My friend got his for 400 bucks all thogther or something, but I don't know. 500 bucks a rim is a ton for 1 rim.
Also, Im obviously going to need new tires. What do you recommend? I'm going to move the stock ones to the rear and get better ones in the front for now I guess.

pirelli p zero...good tires... and yea, my tenza's suck too, i constantly hydro plane in the rain and the traction is terrible in normal conditions... im seriously considering a change because this is yet another post about the same problem sorry bro, good to hear your ok
from what i remember.. the rims were like 180-200 each from the dealership new..
I can definitely agree that the tires did play a role in your losing control, but it could also be that the curve was too fast for the car..
I would recommend the Pirelli Pzero Nero m&s as I have them on the stock wheels.. in a stock size 215/45-17.. only thing I've noticed is a little wearing on the side, fixed by bumping up the air pressures and rotating them about eveyr 2500 miles.. that stopped the wearing..
But I would recommend these tires, they are great.. I've taken some pretty quick turns and they just hold on like glue. They are great in the wet and the dry.. and in snow, they are decent. of course, just have to go slower in ice and snow, common sense.
Some have liked the Toyo Proxes 4 I think they are, but for my money i'd go with the pirelli's.. quiet, smooth.. sporty but not a harsh ride.
If you mix the pirelli's with the stock re92's you could end up with some oversteer issues, like the back end getting tail-happy.. since the grip would be more on the front it would cause the rear to slip (if they were slipping) and pivot around.. another spin out.. I hope you could get a set of pzero's all around.. that's much safer..

yeah.. if you need new rims and you get something different than stock, i'd still go with the pzero nero's.. but yeah you'd be safer getting a set of pzero's than 1/2 pzero and 1/2 re92.. that would be downright scary!
goodyear? hmm.. that really doesn't come to mind for performance tires, i know they make them.. but i've never really heard much lately from their product line..
i've taken a look at toyo, falken, and even bridgestone (re950, made the car feel like a heavy brick.. like fred flintstone put his tires on my car).. but i know I sound like a commercial, but the others that have the pzero nero m&S will tell ya, it's a freaking good tire.
One thing.. there are two pzero nero tires.. there is the pzero nero SUMMER and then there is the pzero nero m&S.. the m&s is what we all have gotten, it lasts longer and not much different in traction between that and the summer blend.. nice thing is.. it puts up with temp changes better..
if you do get the pzero's.. one thing you need to know, if it's cold out and you drive the car, you'll notice a vibration that goes away as you drive.. the tires "flatspot" when parked for awhile. driven like 3 miles it goes away.. to me it's not a big deal and from what others tell me.. all performance tires do that..
hope that helps.. yeah discount tire hooked me up with the pzero's i think they're (going to check).. $119 each..on the website..
