Not to Happy with my UV lumincs...

at first i liked them, But now they seem so Dim compared to the silverstar high beams i have....

i want to take them out...

anyone have any other Bulb's they really like, That are HID looking" Blue/Purple/White anything bright? and would look good..

Just not Really happy with these after 4 days?

i have piaa super white on my car.. i like them.. also piaa as a fog light.. put them together and u get a bright light ^_^

 

gee.... i wonder why your low beams are not as bright as your high beams....

 

I had some Nokia Artic whites then I was convinced at a scion meet to get Luminics UVs. I think they give off a pink light more than a purple. I don’t like them im gonna switch back to my Artic Whites. There not any Brighter ether.

 

I've had the UV Lum's on my car for mor ethan a month and honestly they are too dim for my tastes, anybody have pics of the UV's and the SW to compare?

 

i got 'Pure Bluess' the other day and wasn't too happy with them at first...

but now i think they're starting to grow on me, I thought they looked rediculously illegal at first, but i'm getting used to 'em now

 

of course they're dimmer. they're tinted.


tinted = it's filtering out light that's not within that color spectrum. you're losing the illumination that yellow-red spectrum would otherwise provide.


if a bulb has any kind of coating or "tint" on it...you WILL lose illumination. they're just like sunglasses--no matter how light--you WILL lose light.

 

There is a reason that cars dont' come with these aftermarket color tinted bulbs. It's that they perform worse than the stock bulbs you replaced. Besides, the stock tC bulbs are whiter than most stock bulbs I've seen.

 

I thought they would be brighter but they are not... a solid product...great for show... but not as far as function goes.... I think you are better off with silverstars...
It should make ur car look good but also be functional....

 

Anyone have pictures of the UV... being projected on a wall or something. Can you post some?

 

i ordered some LED running light bulbs from autolumination and they really brightened up my luminics UV bulbs, which I also thought were extremely dim from the get-go. it helped out a lot, and makes the lights look great. i do have some super-white german bulbs here from autolumination i haven't put in yet but will post pics once i do.. i'm gettin bored with the UVs.

 

if your complaining about the light, put your stock ones in, stop complaining, and spend the money for HIDS, if you want a TRUE upgrade in performance, and not just something different than stock, spend the money.

 

Silverstars are also Tinted... ideally would be about 10-15 more watts on the lows and highs from any tinted light, IMO.

 

Funny..I have the Luminics Hyper Whites. Ive had them for about 3 weeks now and I wouldnt fathom going back to the harsh stock ones or trying a different brand

 

I guess harsh means bulbs that let you see farther ahead, not just think you are seeing farther ahead.

This has actually been proven, and beaten down consistantly, the stock bulbs outperform any of these "tinted" glass ones that give you a "white" or "bluewhite" color. They dont' just slap some chrome plastic and a light bulb inside a housing and call it a headlight.

By harsh, I mean...just that....harsh. The stock bulbs...for ME gave off WAY to much of a glare.
Whatever was proved in the past, no matter how many times...is GREAT ! It solidifys my reason for getting a softer more clear light such as the luminics
Just because somethings brighter doesnt mean it makes it more clear.
Lemme shine one of them deer spotting lights, you know, the ones that you good ole boys down south use to spot deer...yea...lemme shine one of them in your eyes and you can tell me how well you see

 

Colored bulbs reduce light output. CASE CLOSED.

If you want Yellow / Blue / Purple whatever, you must tint the glass, which in turn, reduces the amount of light.

When you buy "blue" headlights, don't expect better vision or brighter lights.

Guys, I'd also like to point out that the atmosphere in the bulb
effects its output. So you can have a tinted bulb that outperforms
an OEM non-tinted bulb, simply because of a better quality
manufacture! That said, a crazy blue or purple one needs A LOT of
tint, and is going to be darker no matter what.

The Osram (German) version of the Silverstars are
true untinted (brighter) versions of our US Silverstars.

I also really like the Luminics Hyper Whites.

With PIAA, it's almost always a good product, but you are
paying for the name, BIGTIME!
