Scinergy~Atlanta chapter (Scinergy was started in SoCal and now has chapters in NorCal, Iowa, and Kansas City, encompassing many members nationwide. It is a non-membership fee organization in which each chapter is usually sponsored by a particular dealership, among other businesses, that fund banners, vinyls, meets, etc. It does not mean that the club always holds its meets/events at the sponsoring dealership, but the club & dealership have a supporting relationship.)

This is Mrs. F150man, i think Scions Around GA fits our club. I think the name needs to have GA in it cause not everybody is going to be from Atlanta. So thats my pick on the name.

No matter what name is chosen, we have discussed some things at our meets that I hope is understood and accepted by everyone:
a)There will be no membership dues.
b)All Scion owners & enthusiasts are welcome, whether stock or modified, etc…
c)There will be no titles like President, Vice President, etc. Everyone is equal.

You're more than welcome to join us. Most of our meets are going to be centered around the Atlanta area, but we'd love to have you if you're willing to make the drive. There is one other member (F150) who also lives in Macon and owns an xA & xB, and will be attending some meets, so you may want to get in touch with him.

Sounds awesome Wagen.. I would def be interested!! Prob wouldnt be able to make all the meets depends on how frequent they are but would love to come hang out with everyone!!

You guys do realize that Scinergy has club officers and is a national club that we
would have to be accepted by and answer to. I don't think we can just declare
ourselves to be the "Atlanta chapter". We would also need to get a dealership to
sponsor us. So who's running for office? Has anyone contacted Scinergy yet?

Since it was actually voted for so much to be in the top three, I've contacted them and have been in the works of getting info.

They don't necessarily have national officers that reign over all the chapters, we would have to have permission to start a chapter here, but we wouldn't have to "answer" to anyone but ourselves, and we would have to recognize that we are representing a national club. We'd have to find a dealership to sponsor our club, and I'm not sure if Sandy Springs Toyota/Scion would be interested, but they've been great so far with our meets.

I'm not opposed to certain people being the organizers & leaders of the club, it's natural and necessary for some people to stand up, but I am opposed to titles such as President, etc. that just creates unequality, envy, and fuels egos among the members IMO.

At all cost I want to avoid egos. I don't mind helping out or running a project.
However, I have no desire to have a title or to be in charge. But if I had to promote
somebody with knowledge and experience to get our little club going it would be
WagenMaster.

During our last meet here in SoCal, we talked about this thread and everybody is excited to have you guys as ScinergyGA. Teaming up with a dealership is not compulsary for every chapter, but since Scinergy is a free nationwide club, no membership dues, most chapters look for sponsorships in order to avoid charging its members for any amount of money.

As for the officers, it's up to each chapter to come up with positions that you guys might need. ScinergyIE, our chapter have a President, to formally have a chapter leader, every group needs somehow a leader right? then we have a Treasurer, who takes care of the funds.

Ok, I'm closing this poll as stated.

Here's the problem:
I suspected that someone was creating new usernames and submitting votes so I contacted some Moderators I know and Darren (the admin/owner) to get a list of names and IP addresses used for votes.

Three people created phony accounts and submitted multiple votes, so sadly 7 of the votes will not count.

I'm disappointed that it came to this. :nope:

It was a pretty close split between the top two, but since we said that we wanted it to be a Democratic choice, we can only go with what won. I hope that everyone will come together in the club no matter what name you voted for. After all, it's the people that count-not the name.

After reading the suggestions, I've talked to Ron from ScinergyIE about following the Iowa chapter and naming our chapter 'Scinergy Georgia' rather than 'Scinergy~Atlanta', after all, many of us live outside the Atlanta-metro area and I we wouldn't want to suggest that we'd disclude anyone.

We can alter our logo slightly to say "Scion Scinergy Georgia" or "Scinergy of Georgia" or whatever if desired.

I'm currently working with Ron to get some things for our Scinergy chapter, and I'll keep you informed.

The vote says SAGA..Scions Around GA.. There are some that are saying the vote was cooked from the start. I don't know the full story but I hear it seems that there may have been a lot of out of state influence to twist the name to Scinergy from the get go which was retalliated by a lot of new registered Georgia voters voting for SAGA...Scions Around GA. Whats the truth? Whats the name? Do we need a recount using only Georgia voters? Should we decide at a meet? Just some questions. Not pointing fingers. Don't get ____y, Lets just get a name and move on.

Were we going on the first and third sundays before? I don't know if you guys want to meet on Sunday July 3rd or if you want to wait, or if you want to meet eariler. When is a good date. I don't know if there is an entry fee for the car show this weekend but it would be great if we had a huge showing for Scienergy.

Hello all!

Brand new tC owner here. I was just wondering how I can become a member of this club. I will be in Atlanta this weekend and would love to stop by the car show in Duluth.

Robert, can you get a copy of the "scinergy" logo from the other club so we can start
on a logo for Georgia. It needs to be in ".EPS" format for my vinyl cutter or just get me
the font that they used. Also the PMS colors of the vinyl they used.

We need to decide when our meetings are going to be so that everyone can be able to come. Next sunday would be good if everybody else would agree, and we could meet around 3 or 4 that afternoon. Maybe grab a bite to eat for supper and make a night of it. Just come up with a time, date, and place. Would everyone consider three times a month or would that be too much? Just a thought that way maybe it would give everybody a chance to make one of the meets.

LIke i said before, and i'll say it again, we need to go with SAGA, because if someone outside of ATtlanta, wants to join, well they wont because they'll think its just for atlanta people. Dont take it as i'm trying to ____ people off but i'm trying to make it fair to everybody, whether their from there or from wherever. This is my opinion, and thats all i have to say about the name. Me and my husband will join either way but trying to look out for others to.

It seems that Scinergy of GA is going to be the name. I think that Georgia must be in the title not to offend those living outside of Atlanta. Wagonmasters original post mentions the name Scinergy of Georgia. I guess the acronym is SOGA vs SAGA

Hey all, there seems to be some confusion. I don't know if everyone bothered to read my post, or just misunderstood it but our club name is Scinergy, Georgia Chapter.

Scion enthusiasts/owners are welcome to join from all over Georgia. Flip_tC, we'd love to have you join.
Many of us will be at the show at Dave & Buster's today, but we'll have many other meets/shows to attend for those not able to make it.

For most months, we'll have meets every two weekends.

Ron from ScinergyIE is currently mailing some forms and things for us to get started.
Baine, I'll let them know about your vinyl cutter and let you know about the logo as soon as I am informed.
