Default My 3" Header back custom Mandrel bent exhaust

Here are some pics of my custom Mandrel bent 3" exhaust done by a local shop called Augusta Customs. I had a lil cheapo muffler on it, but couldnt deal with the loud sound, so I got my Magnaflow Muffler put on today...

I will try and get some audio clips, but dont have anything to do it with.

Tell me what you all think!!

Well, I am sure the quality of the Magnaflow is a lot higher than that of your old muffler. However, the look is really not my cup of tea. I, personally, like the clean tucked in look (I think the TRD exhaust achieves this nicely). I think this one sticks out way too much under the car.

To each his own though.

I will go take another pic... it was HARD to get the 3" under there with mandrel bending and getting the muffler in.. The pic there is kinda missleading, I will go take another pic for ya..

Yeah, forced induction in your future? Otherwise 3" is way
overkill!

Looks well done though!

Yes.. LOL.. I was waiting for someone to post that... It is an early setup for Forced Induction... I am getting out of the Military soon and moving to TX. After I get settled there, I should have enough to get a stage 2 Turbo kit.. I just need to find a shop out in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that does good work..

You can see how hard it was to tuck that under there.

3" piping, header back, into a canister muffler.... That's gotta be loud as hell. Assuming you have a header too... And I didn't see you mention a resonator.

A good sound clip is definitely needed...

Yeah, I am in the process of trying to get a vid camera.. It has the stock headers on it, and no resonator.. It was LOUD as hell with the othe muffler on it, but it has quieted down a bit.. It is still loud at WOT, but I am willing to do it until the TC is put on.

Who's supplying the grapefruits?

jk. No, I'm with dmikon though, not a fan of the can. Also looks like the pipe is hanging a little low - is it supposed to be like that?

Well, its not easy fishin 3" pipe under the car, it doesnt really hang that low... I will still be able to easily get a 2" drop on her with no rubbing problems..

How much was the whole cost ??? Since you could probably get something similar from other companies for $ 500-600.

Default silver turd

Looks kinda jimmy rigged to me, and you now have a silver turd hanging out the rear end of your car. why attract attention to that. attract to the car not the muffler!

looks like ____ty welds, and mild steel piping from the way that its already rusting. Exhaust looks like it was routed not so good either. Does the stock exhaust route under the trailing arm like that?

Either way, that exhaust doesnt look professional at all. Fitment looks awful. I know its hard to get 3in under the car, but if the person knows what they are doing, they can get it to work and have have any ackward angles that stick out when you are looked at the car from behind.

Putting on that 3inch straight pipe is the same thing as not even having an exhaust, just running open, if you are going turbo or SC in the future 3'' is over kill, i had a dsm with 2.5'' and it sounded real nice with the turbo.

btw you prolly lost hp due to not having any backpressure.
