u SURE can!

 

you would need to purchase those options at the dealership where you wish to install them. if you get the options as part of the car deal you would need to get them done at the dealership where you bought the car.

 

Not side airbags though, this option has got to be installed before you get the car!

 

and if u get the airbags, u gotta cut the dimming mirror... which sucks... at that other dealer

 

no, you can still use the auto dimming mirror with side airbags. It all hooks up inside the sunroof area

Really? On the Scion website, it says that the factory option for head and side airbags does not allow you to have the auto dimmer.

Hooking the auto dimmer to the sunroof power was found by a person on this site an dnot the dealership. It's a do it yourself thing.

Not all true. It may have been figured out by SL members, but it is definitely not a "do it yourself only" thing. I bought my car (with side airbags) before I knew about SL, and the dealer installed my Auto dim mirror on my car.

If your dealer tells you that the airbags/mirror are mutually exclusive, simply inform them that the power wire can be run to the sunroof switches, instead of down the A pillar's. Dealer's will gladly do this for you, as no dealer is going to say: "hrm, I better *not* sell this person an extra accessory, I don't actually want to make more profit on this car".
