Safety Feature???

Default Safety Feature???

ok so i was trying to be cool and fit in with the 240's so i pulled my e-break and did a 180, how come the car shuts off??? is it a safety feature of some kind? i probably sound like such an idiot...

Is your tC a manual or auto? If it is a manual, perhaps when you did the 180, you simply stalled out the engine.

actualy u know what the same thing happend to me, but im still not sure if i just accidentaly let go of the clutch...

ok well fine if none of you know why then ill call scion... its nothing i did cuz u spun the car more then once... go out into your drive ways and do it NOW!!!! and then u can call me an idiot...

How much gas did you have in your car when you did this?

Anybody know if the tC's tanks are baffled?

a kid ran a red light and i hit him.... 11k worth of damage

When you apply the ebrake it locks the REAR wheels... this is a front wheel drive car, so once it completed the 180 it was applying pressure in reverse to the front wheels while you had it in drive... most likely the reason for your stall. Not the best thing for your car either

My mustang had the collision cutoff in the rear. An inertia switch that you can reset behind the trunk carpet. But it would not trip unless it took quite a jar. They gave tons of issues though, failing and having to be replaced.
