All head units are satellite ready- you just need to have them order the tuner kit and the fit kit. These will have the tuner, all wiring and the antenna in them.

do you know if the installation is difficult? can i do it myself or would it be best left to the dealer to put it in?

On the Sirius system the antenna is mounted on the windshield glass next to the rearview mirror, then the wire runs down the a-pillar and to the tuner mounted under the seat, then to the radio. Doesn't look real hard but time consuming and you need to take the passenger seat out and be comfortable removing plastic trim.

Last I heard the best price for a factory Sirius tuner and fitment kit was about $275 plus shipping (McGeorge). I just bought a new Pioneer DEH-P6700MP head unit and Pioneer Sirius SIR-PNR1 tuner from Crutchfield for $269 total after a $50 rebate from Sirius.

Crutchfield sent a free wiring harness and install kit that made install real easy. I installed the head unit and tuner box in about 4 hours (I'm incredibly **** when it comes to stuff like this) and another 3 hours on just the antenna (I'll have a write-up on the antenna install later).

So, instead of the marginal stock (read: proprietary) Pioneer headunit, I've got a great system that really shows off the factory Pioneer speakers and gives me satellite radio and room for expansion.

I'd think twice before laying down the dough on any Scion audio equipment. Even if you had to pay an installer, I think you'd still get more bang for your buck if you went aftermarket. Just my $.02...
