So, my parents just bought an xA RS2.0 Automatic, and I noticed that it came with Blue LED illumination, but only under the cupholders. Is this how it's supposed to be, because I was under the impression that it was also underneath by the pedal area in the driver and passenger seats.
So, am I crazy, or should I give the dealer a call to see what's up?

I think you should give them a call. Site says it comes with the pedal area illumination.

The car my dealer has to test-drive was an RS02, and when I asked about the LEDs, the guy said they were on the floor.
I wasn't looking in the pedal area, so I didn't see them, but it was pretty bright out so I doubt I could have seen them anyway.

You can clearly see it on the scion website.

The LED tubes are under the front edge of the dash on both the driver and passenger side. Push button once and the cup holder lights. Push button twice and the cup and under dash lights up. Push button third time and they light up under the dash only. And pushing the button a forth time turns them all off.

What Mike said.
Now if I only can figure out how much it would cost to do the same lighting under the front seats for the back passengers, that would be cool. Doesn't the factory LED lighting have provisions for extra tubes under the front seats? :ponder:

So, I guess I was right. Unless I'm blind there are no ther LED's aside from the cupholders, even when I hit the illumination button multiple times. I'll have to call the dealer on Monday :(
Anyhoo, I have #1132.

UPDATE: We went to the dealer, and they put in the LED kit for free, and they put LED's underneath the front two seats so, there's blue lights for whoever sits in the back.
(I dunno if that's part of the kit, or they were just being nice)
But at least now it's all in there, and I'm happy.

Yeah, it should have had floor lighting front and rear....mine has it. Guess what though, the port idiots forgot the cupholder lighting on mine, however the dealer is making it up to me another way.

Maybe you got the rear lighting instead of the cupholders, my RS2 only has cupholders and front-floor lighting, none under the driver & passenger seats

I think they screwed yours up as well. They are suposed to have ALL of the lighting including under the seats. You should tell this to the dealer. If you think they are being untruthful, call scion customer service.

I don't see that info any where, and all the pics on the scion.com site, in the brochure and in the Scion Winter/Spring 05 (all the pics that I can find) only show the LEDs under the dash and in the cup holders
Hmm, in fact, on patge 3 of the Winter/Spring 05 book, it refers to it as "LED under dash lighting". I don't see anything that indicates they should be under the driver & passenger seats.
Are you sure they didn't put something extra in yours? Do you know of anyplace that indicates there should be lighting under the driver & passenger seats?

I'm just going by what the dealer told me. The Scion site says "interior blue lighting kit w/cupholder illumination" it doesn't say under dash or anything like that.

Curious. I'll call my local dealer and tell him I have a Scion and I want to pay him to add the LED lighting kit but I want to know how many LED tubes there are and where they're placed. If the add-on kit has under-seat lights, I want them :)

Interesting... there seems to be issues with the LED lighting at the ports. I don't have lighting under my seats either. The option calls for them, and my old release series had them. I'm going to run this by the dealership tomorrow...

Hey man if you bought the 2005 Scion xA RS 2.0 then if you check scion.com it tells you that it comes with the ENTIRE light kit. They are seriously BSing you I bought the RS on the 25th of June I have number 1116 and i have the entire led kit and it was already in the car i didnt have to wait for it to be installed and it wasnt extra it was still at the base price of $14080. And that is false advertisement on their part. If you want if i were you i would print out the stuff that comes with that car and show it to them cause that is why it's base price is more than the regular xa.

It's true, you should get the entire kit. My dealer said as much and made up for the fact that I got screwed out of the lighting.

Actually I've never seen more than under the dash...by the pedals and passenger side and the cup holders as part of the RS2 package. All of the photos and so forth only show those 2 areas. In the poll that someone started only one vote says back behind the seat and I'm guessing that's johnys vote?¿?

I didn't get to call, my phone has been screwed up the past couple of days. The salesman actually called ME today, and I couldn't get the call. When I call him back I'll run it by him.

Bump for an answer... the LED lighting option for the RS2.0 calls for the cupholder illumination and under dash lighting ONLY. If someone got the rear lighting, it was a fluke. If it is missing either the under-dash or cup-holder lighting, it's also a fluke but the dealership should fix it for you. Hope this helps guys.

JC, it's not less than you paid for. Look at the scion site, it says and shows 2 places only. Dude, just because you whined a bit and your dealer screwed up and gave you extra does not mean we are getting less.
You happen to be the only one with the illumination on the backside of the fronts seats...the "ONLY" one. :blah:

I don't see it as much of a big deal anyways. If it were an xB I might have a problem, but with the xA there's hardly any legroom in the back seats for them to be effective when people are sitting in the back. It's also an RS package deal, so all and all there wasn't nearly as much money dropped on the lighting as there would be if they were to be purchased as a separate option.
It's nothing to get worked up over, just another mystery solved by the ScionLife crew. :come:

Thank you for contacting Scion.
Yes, the interior LED lighting for the RS 2.0 xA includes under dash lighting, rear under seat lighting, and cup holder illumination.
