Im just looking for peoples input, experiances, this will be a first time experiance for me buying a brand new vehicle. Im pretty sure Im making the right choice with the toyota reliability and name, I just want to see how long people have been waiting. and if it matters..... I want it in thundercloud metallic btw

I think it depends on how picky you are about color. Each dealer gets an "allotment" of cars if your color is in it you will get it when the next boat arrives. Call around to the various dealers, you might find the car you want sooner.

I waited 3 1/2 weeks for my BOP, but could have gotten it sooner if I had checked around.

Good luck,

We went in on June 10, and were told any color/transmission combo could be had by the end of the month. We wanted a BOP automatic, and after waiting a week or so were told it was not looking good . . . could be a month or more.

AND, just to rub it in, he had the very same blue/autom coming for another customer that was taking FOREVER. Our 2nd choice, camo, was looking like 2-3 weeks away also, 3rd choice, black, maybe a week or two.

Well, the BOP automatic came in for the other customer, after almost 2 months, and lo & behold . . . the customer bailed!! Suppose he got tired of waiting?!?

So we pick it up TONIGHT!!!! WHOOHOO!! :D

The message is, order what you want, prepare to be patient, and you might get lucky . . . Seriously, shop all the dealers, find out what they have coming in, and good luck!!

Well, I gave my dealer $1K down on May 25th, and had to wait until June 17th to find out that it should be delivered either July 1 or July 8. The most frustrating part of the whole deal was not getting an approximate delivery date for over 3 weeks.

I ordered a BCP with an automatic (I'm old), but I could have gotten it sooner if I would settle for a manual. Being flexible is one way to speed up the process.

Good Luck.

Food for thought: Scions all cost the same no matter where you buy it.
With that in mind, don't feel obligated to wait for your local dealer to get you one. If you find the car you want elsewhere, get it. When we bought my wife's RS 2.0 xB, we drove over an hour (into another state) to get it. If we had waited for our local dealer to order it, it might have taken weeks. This way, we drove it home the very same day.

what about the warrantys? can you take them in to any scion/toyota dealership or are you restricted to just the one you made the purchase?

You can go to ANY Toyota dealership and have it serviced. The warranty is through the Toyota corporation and has nothing to do with the dealership.

Any dealer!!! I based my buying decision on the whole Dealership. No hurry in Buying one. So I wanted to ensure I felt conmfortable with the salesman, and the service area. Same price where ever you go. But When if I ever have to take my car to get worked on, I want to know they are doing it right!!
