I'm debating whether to put an Clutchmasters FX 100, 200, or 300 series clutch in my tC. Anyone have one of these or anything similar in their car? Is the clutch streetable, or will I blip and lurch out've the driveway...?

How about... which one lets you go F/I but still slip a little out of first gear?

hope you're kind to your clutch leg i feel pity for it if u choose such a rough clutch and good luck in getting out of first in tra-tra-tra-traffic 2nd gear bah clutch again rinse and repeat

I used an ACT stage 3 clutch with heavy duty pressure plate on my old daily driver...engaged close to stock but definitely grabbed alot harder

actually stronger the clutch is not a good thing.

strong clutchs are meant to work under hot conditions and wear down quickly because of the compound.

finding the right clutch is the balance between teh choice of

longetivity and grip (same goes for tires)

also check out the torque capacity ratings for each series.

I think it's something like:
stage 1: 275 ft/lb for basic bolt ons or up to 50hp shot of nitrous; not for f/i applications

stage 2: 275 ft/lb same as stage 1 but with kevlar disc; longer life expectancy

stage 3: 345 ft/lb medium boost turbo or supercharger, 100hp shot of nitrous, cylinder/head work/cams

personally I'll be going with the 300 series with zpi's stage 1 turbo kit

Exedy is offering their Stage 1 Clutch kits for the tC now - they are another reasonable option for a slight upgrade over stock - will handle more power and torque than a stock unit and last longer, perfect for a street, daily driver with basic bolt on upgrades
