Default Luminics Ultra Violet Pure Blue and Police Harassment ...

I've been searching through all the other Luminics posts... unfortunetly I couldn't really find the answer to my question... Which is:

Have you been harassed by any police officers becasue of your Lumincs UV or PB headlights?

If so, did they just pull you over and question? Was there a ticket written? Followed??

Thanks!

it will really depend on how the law enforcement is in your area. there is a chance you can get a fix it ticket escpecially for the pure blues. i don't think there has been a case yet about them though

The cops would have to be SUPER **** in your area to sweat you over the UV ones. The pure blue, maybe. But still not likely. They sell fake blue headlights everywhere now. And some cops don't even notice the difference.

I know someone did post that the cops didn't go for the "jdm yellow" headlights.

RL, I've got the Hyper Whites on my TC if you are interested in seeing them. Just let me know... I am in the Greater Portland area too.

Why do people still refer to it as harrassment? All they are doing is enforcing the laws, i.e. their jobs. We should be mad if they DON'T stop you and ask you since that would mean that they ARE NOT doing their jobs and, therefore, stealing our tax money.

You know, even before you buy them, that they are illegal. You choose to take a chance. Don't get mad because you got caught.

If i go off the site it says "They are 100% street legal".

*shrugs*

Why do people feel the need to comment when they have nothing useful to add?

And I refer to it as harassment since I think their time could be better used than checking on the color of headlights...

****

ANYWAYS... I got the UV's yesterday and they are basically white lights with a hint of purple... I dont' think I'll have a problem at all...

Where does it say 100% street legal? Does it say 50 State DOT approved? If so, it might be old info as laws change daily. If the package says any of the above then just take it to court and the case gets thrown out.

Also, I am adding something useful. It's mentalities like yours (and the even worse, "I hate cops") that make our society so hard to live in. This is another topic that I'm not going to discuss here (for it would hijack your thread).

Yes, I'm sure the police have better things to do but, if in the performance of their duties, they happen to spot something illegal (such as your headlights) then it is their duty to stop and correct you. I understand their resoning behind it as it does help to save lives. If your bright headlights just cause ONE person to swerve slightly and have an accident then that is one person too many. Even if it takes 5 years of you having the brighter-than-legal headlights before it happens.

Kids, sheesh!

I'm sorry it doesn't say 100% street legal... The exact phrasing is "Completely Street Legal"

That can be found at the 5th bullet down on this page:

****

You know, i don't hate cops... But i do hate **** retentive people such as yourself... I'm sorry man but if you think it's justifiable to be pulled over for such petty things than i feel sorry for you. May you learn to be free...

I'll bet you'd cheer if a police officer pulled you over for doing 56 mph in a 55... Afterall that is in excess of the maximum posted speed! Dear god that one mph could be all it takes.. right?

Resinated Lungs, listen to what Boricua has to say cuz I did talk to the luminics guys and they even said the lights are not DOT approved ie... ILLEGAL! lol

and Boricua.. unless the judge can read japanese, we will not be needing the box for evidence lol

I have Pure Blues and I've passed quite a few cops so far (3 weeks almost) and nothing .. I dont mean to jinx myself but I'm pretty sure they are not as bad as some other ones..

I have the UltraViolets and have had no problems. If anything they look like HID's, which are obviously not illegal.

As far as aftermarket, didn't they ban most of the after market HID companies from selling them?

Of course factory HIDs are fine..but I dunno about aftermarket if you dont do it right

Yeah, I've read other posts stating that they need the DOT stamp to be street legal...

My original post was not about the legality of the bulbs, but rather if you'd get pulled over/followed for such a thing...

I guess the only reason I stated that the site said they were legal was to let Boricua know that there could be some confusion in this area...

If a cop gives you a hard time about these bulbs....You need to move out of Mayberry

Serious tho, been on for 3 months, no problems at all. Luminics rocks
