Drop is proper, is that a flat front grill?

driftersil80
06-24-2005, 05:11 AM
Sorry about my cars dirtiness! It needs a wash. Next im getting some interior lighting (cold cathode things). Future plans are CF hood, I/H/E, and ummmm. Maybe some eyelids or something. The drop looks way better in person. Looks sorta crappy here but OH well you get the IDEA. And just incase anybody is wondering, those are KMC Redline rims. They are a special edition "Hotwheels" rim. :)

you can go lower on those coilovers..right??

Why yes. I suppose so. I almost scrape anything that I drive over, and it gets driven daily, so umm......I cant go too much lower. When I go over speed bumps I barely have clearance....any lower and I would have to take speed bumps sidewayz, lol. Oh and in case you're wondering, I dont know how much lower I can go. When I got it lowered, I asked for about an inch above the tires. I dont know how much they lowered it, but they said between 2-3 inches.

I got the same Grille for my white xB...I'm glad to finally see it on a white one, and to see it looks good :-) I also got some projectors with the black casings, hopefully it will give me a nice continuous black look...just waitin for the body shop to fix the rest so I can get it back on the road...how much was the coilover kit? I was thinkin bout the H&R cup kit...

06-24-2005, 08:38 PM
The Hot Wheels wheels are a nice touch. Fitting, in an ironic sort of way. Way to go with the other mods, too.

Okay, got home from my business trip and back to my regular computer. I can see the photos now. Nice ride! I like the grille very much, even the wheels you selected. But you gotta paint those calipers! I'd go white, silver, or black, but black would be my last choice.

Good job!

driftersil80
06-25-2005, 04:58 AM
So, how exactly do you paint calipers?

whipple81
06-25-2005, 05:13 AM
Hi-temp paint...Duplicolor makes a good one...they have it at Kragen

driftersil80
06-25-2005, 05:54 PM
So then...do I just remove the caliper and paint it?

whipple81
06-25-2005, 06:12 PM
well...depending on how good you want it...I personally would take it off, take it totally apart, get some paint stripper (nasty stuff, make sure you have some water handy, thats the only thing that neutralizes it) paint the calipers with the stripper, let it sit, get all that old paint off of there, primer the caliper, then give it a few coats of the paint (let it flash dry in between or else you'll be waiting YEARS for the paint to dry lol...

Very good sir! I love those headlights. What kind are they? And, how was the installation?

whipple81
07-01-2005, 05:12 PM
I got them from Street Beat Customs in AZ (DO NOT go there for them tho) they are made by ICT or somethin...but I think a bunch of other companys slap their names on there as well...I just gave them to the body shop to install when they fixed everything...but from the looks of it it was really easy...they didn't hook up the LEDs tho...so thats my task for today...

driftersil80
07-01-2005, 05:16 PM
Whats wrong w/ street beat? I live in AZ so it sounds easy to get to.

whipple81
07-01-2005, 08:27 PM

Lookin' good 8)

I have a backwards kind of question for you...how high do they go? Can you bring them up to stock height? The reason I ask is for winter driving with snow and crap on the road.
In the weeds looks sweet in the summer, but when the snow falls around here... :nails:

LOL. Me and my dad would consider goin down......but......were in Texas right now  Maybe a meet in the next couple of weeks though........

EDIT: Ok I just thought I would let this out right now. I am 14 years old. My dad bought the Scion for me and he buys all of the parts (until I get a job). Me and him pretty much have an equal say on what gets done to the xB. Well, sorta, I had to convince him to get coilovers before getting I/H/E (in the end, we BOTH thought it was worth it). I drive the car around town a little (not legally!), and my dad drives it almost daily. This will go on until I get my permit in like 8 months. Once I start driving, the car is completely mine. So yea. Just thought i'd let people in.
