Ok so I was gonna have my guys order my rims tomorrow, but not I am having second thoughts on my rims.
I wanted the R1 GTR-6 rims, I really like them, but I am not sure if I like the silver with the Lava.
I dont want anything too dark on the xB because I wanna stay away from the Halloween theme (black and orange).
So now I am thinking maybe gunmetal, I like the GTR-7's too,

Tell me which ones you think would look better,
please excuse the ____ty photochop....

GTR-6 on the left and GTR-7 on the right

DOC, go with the GTR-7 on rt.
i know how you feel about choosing wheels, i just ordered mine 3 days ago, should be here in about 6-8 wks. i decided to go with gun metal also, figured it might match the carbon fiber hood, body kit better. never have been a fan of silver or chrome except for on a mustang :) good luck with your rs1 hope we get them soon.
my groundcontrol c/o should be in on thursday. hope i like them, still don't know what they look like. but thats cool they were cheap.

Yea, those are the ones on the left. Those have always been my favorite rims for the xB. I love the way they look.

I vote the Gunmetal GTR-7's...the others are nice too but, too shiny IMHO...

:) ncscion, it sounds like your ride will look nice too.
By the way, where are you getting and how much are you paying for your Ground Control coil overs, how low are you planning on going? Are you going for a comfortable ride or a performance type ride?

Wow...very interesting.

GTP's Vs. GT7's...lol..!

I go with "GTP's"...the ones on the left.

As much as I like 6 spoke rims (looking for some for my car), I'd go with the GT-7's. The gunmetal would look better with the hot lava color. I also think they are a better looking rim. The gt-7's look bigger, imho. The GTR-6 spokes don't go to the lip and get caught up with a lot of clutter. The gunmetal gt-7's would look sick!!

You must get the one on the left (the GTR - 6), not only does it look 100% better, but I think the finish is perfect for the lava. Not too blingy, just enough brightness to look great.

If it helps, I normally do not like wheels w/ 6 or more spokes, but those I would consider. They look awesome.

i think the pioneer demo cars has the gtp on them and the injen car has the gunmetal gt-7 if you look at those cars you will get a real good idea on how they look on the ride instead of photoshop. But those are the real deal holyfield volks though.

Go with the 6 spokes:

Why? They look FLAT.

I don't particularly care for the thinner spoke "curved" spokes on an xB. They look too busy and too tunerish, too sports car. The xB is more "truckish" in look than sports car-ish"

They don't mesh up to the car's overall look, and tend to look very pretty themselves but draw the eye to the rims instead of the vehicle itself. They don't "flow" I guess with the overall design to me. You don't want any one component to "stick out".

Silver will look nice on a Hot lava. Remeber it already "matches" the silver reflection from the headlights/ fogs and billet grill.

I wouldn't go with gun metal, it's gonna make the rims look smaller and you don't want that with all the side area on an XB. Plus you already have a bunch of silver accent on a Hot lava b/c of the billet grill, the little step thingies if you get them, in the cockpit etc. You also have a very unique color that changes with the light from orange to *JUMPIN JEHOSOFAT* orange. Silver works best on orange, or white, but a light light color.

Again just my .02

This is my *hitty photoshop of the rims I like for mine (assuming it ever gets here!)

Remember:
this is just a constructive critisism from an artistic standpoint, and does not imply or contain critisism of any wheel choice of any person on this board (even the ones that look like oversized skateboard wheels*whoops!* )

Buy what ever YOU like best. Who gives a funk if someone else dogs them. It's your ride and your perception of its appeal that is important!!!
