Default Angelfire E-Supercharger ??

I was wandering about ebay the other day and came across this product that claims to be a supercharger... The only thing is, it's only like $150.00 shipped.

It looks like its just a small electric turbine placed right after your air filter. The seller claims it adds double digit hp. I was just curious if anyone has seen or experimented with anything like this...

As far as I know that is what your vacuum pump on the intake does, pull air into/thru the intake plumbing and into the filter. This just sounds like a gimmick. I wouldn't bite...

lol there are so many indicators that this is a bit bogus...

first off Angelfire is a free web host that people are supposed to use for personal web pages. It isn't the company that makes the product. I guess they most likely have subscription web hosting as well ... but since their banner appears everywhere on his page.. I"m guessing its a free website.

and secondly "and as an added bonus I will also include a free, YES I said Free IAT performance chip, this is a 10.00 value Absolutely Free. This Mod will also increase your HP by 7-15hp."

a 10$ performance chip that makes 7-15hp? if only such things existed... I guess that's right up there with a 150$ supercharger that makes double digit hp.

This thing might actually produce some gains... but chances are most of the gains would be from changing out the stock filter to a less restrictive filter. I highly doubt a 5 amp fan can push/pull enough air to make a big difference.
I'm also willing to bet at some point it will be a restriction to air flow.

Its definately not worth the 150$ he's asking (maybe if it was like 10$ shipped it might be something to get just to mess with) ... for the money just get yourself an intake (like the injen SR).
if you already have an intake, well, its defiantely not worth modding your intake just to fit that junk on.

the whole IAT mod is actually something that helps but in no way would you have to purchase a chip for it. on my last car before i did a ATX-MTX swap i had done the IAT mod simply by installing a toggle switch inline on the IAT wire.....what it did was eliminate the fuel cut off when switching gears on the ATX( i would spin wheels on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift) and greatly helps ET's.....BUT....my car was a OBDI so tricking the computer wasnt very hard on OBDI i highly doubt you could do such a mod on a OBDII without hacking the ECU...... if interested ill post a link giving all the info on IAT mods
