Default Wiring Q for Overhead Monitor

Hey guys, my overhead monitor just came in the mail today from xenarc.

Question is this: There are two sets of red/black power wires coming from the unit. One of them comes from the A/V harness (the one with the rca input cables) and one set that seems to come from a power switch on the unit. Am I correct in my assumption that the power coming from the A/V harness is for the monitor (and thus needs its own safe power supply) and that the switched one is for the dome lights?

Any suggestions on how to wire it? A quick couple searches didn't yield anything of any help, at least from what I could find. Can the <assumed> dome light power be taken from the dome light's old wires, and can the <assumed> monitor's power be taken from an "add-a-fuse" thingamajig?

i'll be installing tomorrow morning so please let me know!!

thanks!

Go to www.crutchfield.com, they have a video of a monitor install. Check it out.

yeah i get the idea of how to install it, i'm just wondering if anyone knows which cables do what... if not, i'll just test it on the old dome light wires.

You are correct that the second set is for the dome light....its an easy install, good luck.
