Hi, my wife's hot lava is in port just waiting to be delivered. I wanted to drop it with springs for the look but am worried about her damaging the front end on parking curbs. Will the drop be cutting it close and hit most parking stops?? I won't do the drop if it will hit cause I know she will do it on the first day she gets it.

I have 2" Goldline springs on mine. I can look out the door and tell I am about 1/2" lower than my sidewalk. I know I was at Advance auto today and saw that I would hit their concrete parking stops. I am also a little higher than stock tires as I am running 215/35-19s.

i don't risk parking close to the stops, with the tanabe 2.2" drop in the front i think i'd rub, but just barely...

however, even stock height, the side skirts will hang down below the curb line, making for some nasty curb-rash if you're not careful parallell parking!

Parking stops are not all the same height. I've come pretty darned close even at stock height!

However, the xB is so short (lengthwise) that you don't need to use the stops. Even if you are three feet from the stop you will not hang out at the rear!

Thanks guys, I will have to re-train her parking habits first, then when she is comforatable I will drop it down. So does the short length also help when going over dips, like when coming out of a side street or gas station that has an incline with a valley gutter. Probably just try to angle out I suppose.

Angling helps some, its something you've just gotta get used to...

I recommend waiting on the springs til you've driven it for a while. Then you really notice the difference. I am still amazed. Took it thru 3/4ths of a clover leaf the other night, haulin' ___ and barely squealed. Even got the VSC to flash once. :twisted:

I have the Goldline 2" drop springs........with 205/40/17 tires (they turn out to be the same diameter of the stock wheels/tires)...........and on most parking stops.........I would trash my bumper if I pulled up to them.

I agree with Kil, here in vegas the parking bumps seem to be higher than other places, when I am in LA Ican pull up in most parking lots to the parking stop, not in Vegas. Bill

I TRIED to retrain my wife's parking habits to no avail. She kissed a curb with the front skirt. :x
I thought she'd figured out by now that the car is soooooo short, but noooooo. Anyway, I have a couple of quater inch claw marks right at the bottom front of my skirt now. Not too bad, but not perfect anymore.
