Default xA Tanabe exhaust. A few pictures (56k warning).

Just here to share a few pictures. I've been using this exhaust for a few weeks already, but I haven't had time to post pictures untill now.

Briefly, I recommend this exhaust for those who want something that is not too loud. I know I'm being vague, but it's difficult to describe a sound and its intensity with words. However, I say confidently that if you want a loud exhaust for attention, this exhaust is not for you.

Rather than my trying to go through every aspect of my opinion, just let me know if you have any questions.

Notice that the Tanabe exhaust hanger is hollow for weight savings. How much weight is saved is beyond me, but it's nice to know they made the effort.

Check out my cardomain page if you have time. The link is in my signature. Thanks!

Although i'm not the biggest fan of that design, it looks good. Not over-done.

Good luck with future mods!

For all those who doubted my word (you know who you are), another owner has just spoken on how quiet the Tanabe Hypermedallion is.

At 3k rpm, and no load, my Tanabe had a reading of 78 dB.

How quiet is it at 4k rpm under load while driving in the freeway? I can hear the air being sucked in thru the SR over the exhaust!

Looks good. I don't like how low it sits compared to the bumper though. Maybe you could bend one of the hangers to get it a little tighter in there.

Looks great! I'm in the Bay Area as well. May I ask where you purchased this exhaust from and approximately how much you paid for it?

Thanks,

Andre

Looks very good! If there's one thing I don't like about my DC Sports exhaust, it's that the tip is a bit too wide and it sites too close to the bumper. While your Tanabe does look to have a better size tip, I must agree with -KangaRod- and say that it sits a bit too low. Have you noticed any increase in power or fuel economy?

Thanks for the comments, guys. I thought it hangs a little low relative to the bumper when i first put it on, too, but I think I got used to the way it looks. I'll ask more people what they think. thanks!

Squirrel isn't lying. the exhaust is not that loud. Think of it as a "street tuned" exhaust. it's far from loud enough to get you in trouble with the cops and supposidly, this application is tuned to improve low end torque by sacrificing high end hp. By saying sacrificing, I mean less gain and not losing hp. I read this from Optionfans magazine.

Andre, I bought the exhaust used from Echocrazy, a member on this forum. If you want a good price on one. try www.Adventon.com.

Looks similar to the TRD design. Pretty sweet.

On the xA, I like the look of that design a lot better than most canister style mufflers.
