View Full Version : Who says the RSX and TC can't get along? alex8181 06-30-2005, 06:55 AM The Acura Hotness next to the Scion Hotness. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y237/alex8181/TCandRSX.jpg TurboMe 06-30-2005, 06:58 AM tC is nicer :D i have to admit the new silver rsx's are appealing to me tC_kevin 06-30-2005, 07:41 AM they are both great cars. i love the rsx. but that body kit on that rsx is ugly Chombi 06-30-2005, 08:19 AM I agree, the body kit on the RSX does not help it. You can really tell how much newer the tC's design is. The lines on it look tighter and more cohesive. I think Acura should dump the pointy looking beaks on their cars that are starting to look old. Can't wait to see the next version of the RSX. I'm sure the competition from the tC will surely inspire them to do a hard design push to fight back. Chombi tCoy 06-30-2005, 08:25 AM lol.....sitting next to the rsx, the tc looks like a pug. tyscion 06-30-2005, 10:00 AM  two beautiful cars. Can't we all just get along? :silly: Tom_P 06-30-2005, 11:53 AM I test drove an RSX and was thinking of buying one, but the tC has just as many if not more standard features for $4000 less. RSX is better on gas though. HKSpeed 06-30-2005, 01:58 PM the new rsx looks much better than the first design. i would only settle for a type s, but at $6k more than a tC, I had to pass. why dont tC and rsx owners get along? TrafficinLA 06-30-2005, 03:06 PM the new rsx looks much better than the first design. i would only settle for a type s, but at $6k more than a tC, I had to pass. why dont tC and rsx owners get along? Their egos. Both are great cars. DTRUONG_112 06-30-2005, 03:10 PM I love the 05 RSXs more. Great pic too. imjonk 06-30-2005, 05:27 PM i would've gotten an RSX Type-S if i could've afforded it. i figure honda and toyota have more in common. We should combine our might against the domestics. But then again, i'm not really one for conflict.... Eh.. Fixtion 06-30-2005, 05:33 PM Amazing how a "entry-level" to toyota can compete with another company's flagship level...hehe I <3 Scion! I said _____es! dmikon 06-30-2005, 05:37 PM Yeah I really like both cars as well. The tC is a better value than the base RSX, but the Type S is a better performer than both by a decent margin. I really don't see how someone could like one and hate the other. Both have a ton in common with very few differences (aside from looks). One is a little heavier, but with more low end torque, one is a bit more agile and light, but with less low end power. Both Japanese, both quality, both accelerate roughly the same 0-60, both in the same class of car, both loaded with similar standard features, why fight over which one is better? You can't say which is actually better aside from personal preference. Neither has a superiority in any way over the other. Type S is superior, but it is in a different class so it's irrelevant. dmikon 06-30-2005, 05:38 PM Amazing how a "entry-level" to toyota can compete with another company's flagship level...hehe I <3 Scion! I said _____es! I am not sure what you mean by flagship, but the RSX is the cheapest Acura you can buy. The RL is the flagship Acura, I think, with the NSX being the top sports model in the "budget" exotic category. HKSpeed 06-30-2005, 06:29 PM Amazing how a "entry-level" to toyota can compete with another company's flagship level...hehe I <3 Scion! I said _____es! I said _____es! I am not sure what you mean by flagship, but the RSX is the cheapest Acura you can buy. The RL is the flagship Acura, I think, with the NSX being the top sports model in the "budget" exotic category. Well, i think he's more talking about the Scion compared against an Acura. Kind of like trying to compare a regular Honda against a Lexus. But yeah, anyway, it's not really about the badge in a sense. The reason i picked a tC over a Civic, RSX, everything else is that it just made no sense to buy anything else. Civic EXs cost more if you want the same features that come standard on the tC (ior pretty close to it). Cost for the regular RSX was like 4K more. Which i figured.. if i just put that 4K into the tC i could even roll with the Type-Ss. Anyway, yeah, i wish i could drive an NSX. See what the hype is about. They seem slightly overpriced to me. cfusionpm 06-30-2005, 06:47 PM i was strongly considering an rsx, but only a type-s model. i cannot stand getting anything less because when driving it, i would always wish i spent just a little more to get the better model. the only problem with the rsx-s is that it takes 91 octane fuel and cost 5 grand more than my 18 grand tC. i wanted a car that was fun, reletively cheap, and got good gas milage and NOT have to buy premium anymore. i hated having to fill up as much as 2.75$ a gallon or more with my eclipse. if the RSX-S could be had for 18 grand, i'd consider it since the milage would be good anyway, but thats even cheaper than the BASE 05s, and 23 grand (likely 25k+ out the door) was just too much for me right now. the 05 civic Si was a potential candidate for about 5 seconds till i realized how much i hated looking at it... ^_^ HyperZ 06-30-2005, 06:50 PM I like the very sporty looking seats in the RSX. Darkness 06-30-2005, 07:05 PM The RSX looks angry and wide-eyed, while the tC looks all layed back and smug. -Alex- rolstc 06-30-2005, 08:32 PM you cant compare a rsx acura or any other cars thats modded to a stock tc (vice-versa). Put a modded TC in there, and nowww you got a picture. heyitznosaj 06-30-2005, 08:52 PM that lip on that RSX is a  I love both cars but if my parents had the money to get a RSX im sure id be posting on club-rsx.com. alex8181 06-30-2005, 09:31 PM The RSX owner is a good friend of mine and I happened to be at his house so I took a quick picture. We do not have any competitiveness against each other because we both love the individual characteristics that made us buy our cars. I do agree his lip is slightly agressive but if you've ever taken a look at RSX bodykits, you'll notice there aren't too many that are not Fast & Furious. On another note, Wings West or someone needs to release a lip kit for the TC! DerK 07-01-2005, 01:47 AM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v177/noturaverageguy/car%20stuff/tc/IMG_3358.jpg yeah who said they couldn't get along?? my friends 05 jade green typeS and my sw tc Setarcos4131 07-01-2005, 02:09 AM ^^^^thats a baller pic... jwaggz82 07-01-2005, 02:53 AM I had a kids gf throw a bagel out the window and almost hit my car - they were in a typeS and I was pushing my car as hard as it would go (spun way though 2nd) ...and I was right inback of him. Turned out I knew the kid and ran into him 3 weeks later .... I never saw the girl which I wish i would have cause I would liked to give her my 2cents. Anyway - I just wanted to say that he had his foot down on the gas and tried to lose me in a housing development. I turned off when I noticed that I was driving like a fool around where kids normally play but he could not lose me if I kept going. My tc handled just like his car but he had 50hp more then me. . . . I was happy to hear that he tried to lose me but couldnt. Anyway - its funny how quiet the kid got when I reminded him that he was the fool I was chasing that day (which I knew it was a young kid but had no clue it was this kids younger brother that lives in my town). Anyway - that acura and eat it ... if you threw the supercharger on my car that acura wouldnt be shiet. mrbridge 07-01-2005, 03:12 AM I get along with RSXs just fine. Almost bought one even. I think ya'll need to ditch those front license plates. they're ick. datrickster24 07-01-2005, 03:40 AM I dont mind the rsx's. They are good competition to us tc owners :). But yea same thing as everyone else i got a tc instead of ... because tc is new and i like the look and cheap and meant to be modded. Mrbridge i would love to run without my front license plate but unfortunately i live in VA and cops are very strict here and I would easily get pulled over :tap: TimmyT 07-01-2005, 04:05 AM Yah both cars look good.. but I still think the tC looks ____ed cause its next to a Honda :P Chambers 07-01-2005, 08:23 AM man those tC's look like a bull dog or somethin... user1234 07-03-2005, 09:03 AM haha the little pansy blanked out the license plates.... anyway, who are the morons who say the price difference is $6K ? rsx-s is $21.5K. tC with side airbags is $17.5, but you have to add leather and upgraded sound system which would be about $1000-$1500. So the remaining difference is only $2500 for which you get 50 more hp, 1.4 seconds faster 0-60, 6spd and like the pictures show - much better looks. Compare that to $3000 you'd need to spend for the tC supercharger which would not even match the RSX-S performance . dmikon 07-03-2005, 09:58 AM haha the little pansy blanked out the license plates.... anyway, who are the morons who say the price difference is $6K ? rsx-s is $21.5K. tC with side airbags is $17.5, but you have to add leather and upgraded sound system which would be about $1000-$1500. Compare that to $3000 you'd need to spend for the tC supercharger which would not even match the RSX-S performance . That's about the invoice price on the Type S, I doubt it's easy to get one for that cheap. The invoice on a base RSX is like $19k. Also, the Type S will require premium gas, and will cost A LOT more to insure. Also, you can't just slap on features like leather and sound to the price. You can do this with any car and make it seem like the more expensive car is not really much more expensive. Hey, let's add premium sound, leather, supercharger, suspension and brake upgrades, revise the steering, and add navigation, and you're really about $2k below a Lexus! So, the tC thus must not be that much cheaper than a Lexus. That's not the right logic to follow... user1234 07-03-2005, 05:21 PM I'm waiting for the new 2006 civic si. It looks good - slightly bigger then rsx, and has 200hp. Only thing I don't understand is how do they intend to differentiate it from the rsx ? or maybe they will do what toyota has done letting the tC kill the celica. TimmyT 07-03-2005, 06:10 PM haha the little pansy blanked out the license plates.... anyway, who are the morons who say the price difference is $6K ? rsx-s is $21.5K. tC with side airbags is $17.5, but you have to add leather and upgraded sound system which would be about $1000-$1500. How can you say that the supercharged tC wouldn't even match the performance of an rsx-s when no one knows the performance of the supercharged tC? I found the rsx-s mostly around 24k at the lots in my area with dealer mark-ups etc... If you bought your rsx for 21.5k after licensing fees etc kudos. DelayedTurbo 07-03-2005, 06:49 PM The Acura's stock sound system does not compare to the tC's :P user1234 07-03-2005, 09:36 PM no I didn't buy for $21.5K but in online forums most people say they paid no more than a couple hundred bucks above invoice, for both rsx and rsx-s. This makes sense since rsx is a very slow selling car. Many people said they paid $21.5 for rsx-s. RapierTL 08-28-2006, 11:16 PM My friend also paid 21.5k. Very slightly used '05 model with only 3k miles on it. Bought it end of summer last year. WesMantooth 08-29-2006, 08:40 PM I looked at the RSX when before I bought my tC. The guy at the Acura dealer went sour when I told him I was looking at tC's. He tried to feed me a bull line about how the wait time for the tC was so long because of "quality issues" scion was having. 07SCIONTC 08-30-2006, 01:31 AM haha nice ---^ Zander416 08-31-2006, 02:19 AM I LOOOOOOOOOVE my RSX. It is a very nice car. However, I also stated on ClubRSX.com that this will probably be my last Honda/Acura that I buy. (it was also my first) At least for a long while or I get a heck of a bargain. I had a paint issue I took up with Acura. They pulled out every excuse they could dream up as to what outside source caused it. I won't get into detail, but they did repaint one part of the car. Probaby the worst of the two parts. I asked to speak to the factory rep, or forward my emails to him. I never heard a word. I doubt they even contacted the rep. I called the "hotline" for when you can't resolve it at a dealer, I was told "Acura doesn't have paint problems". I heard that a lot during that whole ordeal. Nice excuse huh? They also more or less laughed at me. So, the remaining defect is really not that bad and I can live with it. It was just that I know what it was, and what it was not caused by. So above everything else... being denyed or not, it's the WAY they handled it that I'm saying I'll never buy another. I love this one... but tough. They're not the only good act in town. I'll drive this one 'till she wears out and then it's over. Z HKSpeed 08-31-2006, 03:48 AM RSX owners dont bother hating on tCs. our cars are comparable to civics in their mind. 00-04 Celica owners hate on tCs like no other. the stuff said on Honda-tech and ClubRSX is nothing compared to the trash talk on NewCelica and EverythingCelica. Brakefade 08-31-2006, 04:24 AM Honda's are great. Now, if only I could say the same thing about t 99% of the people who drive them. surfcity40 08-31-2006, 04:32 AM Cars can't get along...people can :P BTW, moving this resurrected thread to the "all other vehicles" forum. Z0RACK 08-31-2006, 04:39 AM I dont like the style of the RSX at all. I think they could have made it look much sleeker like the old Integra, or the NSX. But they do look kinda cozy  RSXaco 08-31-2006, 07:46 AM i love my car also  sorry for the bad experience Z i'm sure every car maker out there has "twisted" dealership or a "ignorant" represenatives. i also hear the new SI have paint issues as well. amanda776 08-31-2006, 07:58 AM I would have bought an RSX if I had the money but I'm really glad I got the tC. |
