i just installed my springs and was wondering if anyone has a pic of what the rear springs are supposed to look at when installed. is the spring supposed to be compressed (4 coils touching each other) near the top or the bottom. this is my first install and i want to be sure they are in right. because for some reason it doesn't look right. thanks

Top. Tighter coils at the TOP.

See this post for a nice up close picture. It's the the Tein, but shows a nice example.

by saying tighter you mean touching each other

Yes. Think of it are long curly hair. Looser curles at the bottom, tighter at the top.

Post a picture of what you think is odd.

thanks. yeah... there isn't anyway to tell how many springs are dead until its sitting on the ground. I appreciate it. shooting that shot unless you have the wheel off...is mostly a blind photo. you have to get the camera under the bumper when your head doesn't fit under there at the same time..lol.

thanks again.

My understanding is, those springs are not installed correctly. Dead coils should be at the top. Here I went and took a picture for you:

see i had mine installed like the first pic, but i have now changed them to the way the second pic shows. the ride is alot less bouncy with the dead coils on top

they feel fine to me
no rubbing at all
and the " bouncing" might be from the struts if they are worn out
strange that the "bounciness" went away by flipping the spring
but i am running fairly light wheels (16")

and u dont think that is upside down. even the logos are upside down. wouldn't you think they should be facing the right way. and when i meant bouncy i dont mean real bouncy i just think the ride feels stiffer now.

yeah the easiest way to tell if it's right side up or not would be can you read the logos or are they upside down? you should be able to read the logos as right side up when installed correctly.
