Default Just finished my first mod!

Hey guys first of all i want to say thank you for the warm welcome and all of the help you have given me. I got my scion on monday and i finished my first mod tonight. I leaned the front of the two front seats back a little. This makes the rides much for comfortable and im so glad i did it. I give all the credit to Max2k and he has helped me a lot already. But anyway thanks everybody and i hope to talk to you soon.

Default ...Air Cabin Filter...

If you are new, you may not have read about your empty cabin air filter tray behind your glove box. Scion sells cars without this filter but will sell you the filter for about $22. Go to Autozone or Advanced and buy one for $12. You may need to say that you have a 2004 box, it is the same part. Then go to the TECH section and read the do it yourself thread on how to install or fabricate your cabin air filter. The glove box is tricky to remove, pull as described to access the tray.
And where did you get that raised front seat trick? Did I miss something here?

Wait, wait, wait, I thought this was a joke. Apparently FrankenScion and myself didn't understand what you actually did. You mean you put washers under the two front bars on your drivers seat? When I first read it I thought you pulled the little lever on your front seat to adjust the back of the seat LOL. I completely thought it was a joke to say leaning your seat back was a mod....my bad. Definitely was NOT making fun of you.

You are supposed to put the washers under the right side of the passenger seat so the girl leans into you. They can't get away as easily that way! (I recommend a 3-inch lift).

Hey guys thanks for the reply. Im sorry i wasnt very clear when i described it the first time. I thought this was a common thing to do so i though people would know it right off the bat without any explination. For anyone out there that is new like me or just wants to learn how to do it here you go:

This tutorial will show you how to change the angle of the seats in the front of your car. This doesnt mean the back of the seat, but the actual angle of the part you sit on.

1. First of all you need to remove the two bolts holding the seat down in the front. These pass through a mounting bracket, you cant miss them.

2. Next, we will want to pull the front of the seat up to change the angle but to do this you must loosen the bolts that anchor the seat in the back. You must take off the cover to get to them but once again, you cant miss them. After doing this you should be able to life the front of the seat up and now you can see where we are going with this.

3. Next you must go to the local hardware store and buy new longer bolts and some washers. I went to lowes first and like an idiot bough standard bolts and of course they didnt fit so i had to return them and go to home depot because lowes had like 7 items that were metric. This next part will depend on the person but i got new bolts that were 10.25x50mm. Try to get the strongest bolt you can, preferably grade 8 so you they can withstand an impact. Also, you must buy washers. These will go under the mounting bracket in the front. I used 10 under each bracket but i suggest starting at 5 and then working your way up. This allowed for a pretty big increase in the angle and comfort of the seat.

4. Now just slip the washers under the mount and slip in the new bolts. Visually, you should already see a difference so tighten up the bolts in the front and back, replace the back covers and you are done.

5. Test out your new seat and enjoy the comfort!

I want to thank Max2k for the idea and hopefully this will be a little more clear than my previous post.

Good luck and i hope this helps somebody out there!

Best mod for the money EVER. Something like $8 worth of bolts and washers exponentially increases driving comfort. I encourage everyone to do this one.

I don't think any of us were flaming...we were playing along with what we thought was a joke. No flaming here.

hey guys thanks for the response. I just think what we had here was a little miscommunication. they all thought i was coming up with a joke and i was being serious. Now that we have it figured out its all good. I will admit i was a little mad at first but now that i see what they were really talking about its funny and i feel stupid for getting mad. So no harm no foul and you guys have made me so welcome so i hope to talk to you all soon and thanks for being a part of this awesome site,
