Is the upgraded Pioneer 6 disc CD player worth the $205?
Sound? No, not IMO, but it does have the changer so if you listen to a lot of discs at once like on a road trip or something.
It came with my RS1.0, and I'm keeping it (not changing for an aftermarket one), but I'm not sure if I would've otherwise paid for the extra for it.

im thinkin bout gettin it...but i want tha 06 one...all i kno of right now is that tha tune n volume controls r ***** not buttons n ipod capabilty...so no_xB_yet if ur gettin a 05 i would try 2 get a 06 stereo 2...specially if u got a ipod...lol
No, it doesn't sound any different at all. The only differences are the ability to load 6 discs and to change the colors on the display. When I ordered my xA, I asked for it to be 100% stock - no options. When I went to pick it up, they had screwed up and installed the 6 Disc changer by mistake. Since I didn't ask for it, they let me keep it for free!!
Now...would I have paid extra for it? No. Do I like having it? Yes. I like it so much, that I might actually recommend getting that option if you like to play alot of different discs or if you want to change your interior lighting scheme with neon or LEDs.

If you use the MP3 function, you can actually record 10 or more CD's per recordable cd if you have a burner on your computer. That works out to around 50-60 CD's sitting in your player at any given time.
I bought a program called "Audion MP3 maker" on the net...look it up on Google. It makes it real easy to convert and record your albums.
I especially like this because I don't need to keep any valuable CD's in the car and with having over 50 in there, it's all I need. I don't need to keep a CD case around.
If you can't figure out how to do it, you'll need to find a computer savy person to help you out. It's too hard to explain this way.

So is there a Stand Alone MP3 machine that can burn for you? My CPU is so old, it get's A.R.R.P. discounts...so a stand alone player would be neat, if there is one.
