Default keyed :(

well, made it to 15k miles before someone hated on my car because they're insignifigant and pitiful

Someone put a nice 3 foot key scratch down my hood, precisely the area that the clear bra would cover if you got it from scion.

Question is, what punishment fits the bill for degenerates of society like these? I think it was a bunch of minors walking into IHOP because when I came up to them and asked them in a very intense manner, they were about to drop bricks... kinda giving them away..
So beating them down wouldn't have been a good idea (is it ever really though?). I think there needs to be more strict vandalism laws in this country... key someone's car, get your face keyed back? ... i mean, our keys are sharp, I have one unused and that thing could do some damage! Seriously though, what posesses someone to do something like that?

*sigh* just venting, never been so aggravated over something as trivial as property before, but it was my car, now that's personal.

I guess I could always ditch the hood for CF as long as I did the hatch too.. how would CF look on FM? eh, not so sure I like the idea, but we'll see.. Repainting the hood would be $150 probably..

Btw, already tried scratch-X as soon as I got home and it had little to no effect.

I am so sorry to hear that this happend to your new car. People have no respect... I can tell you that what goes around comes around though... when they get a little older this too will happen to them, trust me.

I have had it happen to me in the past, to a new car too. I can feel your pain. Best advise, just cough up the $150, have the hood painted and move on... you will be better off for it.

Best of luck!

Rude. That crap kills me.

I'm not sure I could resist beating someone down for trashing my car
for no better reason then they felt like it.

Actually... the opening of the car door into someone might just be an accident. A stupid one, but an accident none-the-less.

Someone keying your car is done with intent and should be considered malicious.

your crying over vandalizm laws. You should look into theft laws.

In tx stealing a car and getting caught will get you 6-12 months probation and a misdemeanor. My car was stolen and over 10k in aftermarket parts. They arrested the kid and then they let him go since he ratted out another theif

I feel your pain too man...

I was also keyed about a a month ago. Mine was worse than your scratch though (damange wise). I was at my girlfriends graduation (christian school mind you), and my car was keyed from the beginning of the passenger door, along the rear fender (which is a big piece of out car... goes along the top of the windows), and back bumper. I had my car repainted just 2 days before I had to show in the carsponsorships.com booth at the Chantilly, VA Hot Import Nights. One thing I was a little happy about is I actually got to use my insurance money that they steal away from me each month... insurance coverd it 100%, I love state farm. But back to yor case, its best to let it drop... i know exactly who did mine... I could easily kick his **** (and im not that big), but it will get him sooner or later.

I've also been keyed, I have no idea who did it. It's so big and ugly, I hate looking at it. I feel bad for you. It's no fun having your property damaged. Horrible feeling.

Sorry to hear. When you used the scratch-x were you applying it by hand or with a buffer? If by hand, try a buffer & if that doesn't work, move on to wetsanding. Might not work, but it's worth a shot.

A carbon fiber hood would look hot on the Flint Mica. That would be a good alternative.
