Okay heres the deal. I had this thread up once, but it got whored over. Please if you're not gonna at least suggest something, dont post.
My xB got egged recently and will need new paint on the highlighted area for sure (as seen below in the picture)

http://images5.theimagehosting.com/highlights.jpg (http://www.theimagehosting.com)

The paint scheme can be as wild as you want to go, as long as the highlighted area gets painted a new color. That and some part of the car needs to stay TCM.
I would really like suggestions, and even better, if you're good at photoshop you can have your hand at it. It will have a carbon fiber hood and spoiler, so I would prefer those areas not to be black, so it can show contrast. That doesnt have to be though.
The picture for you to photoshop is below. My imagination just doesnt reach out far enough to think of something cool myself. It will have some JDM parts on it, but that shouldnt matter in terms of a certain style. So please, just leave suggestions or have at it with photoshop.

(and btw, thanks to Keith for the picture. It's his car in the picture, but it has my tint and my clear corners photoshopped in)

Thanks in advance to all!
Scott

Really, SSL. I like the mellow JDM yellow on the top half from the belt line up.

ALTHOUGH - PLEASE do me a favor if that. Paint BOTH SIDES of the hood, have a glass guy pop the windshield to paint under the seal. Paint the INSIDE of the rear hatch around the glass, paint the insides of all 5 doors jambs. Take the mirrors OFF and paint under them (doesn't matter you can't see it). Remove the two black strips from the roof - buy new ones (cheap) and paint UNDER those also.

Basically - if one side of the panel is a different color - make the other side the same also!!! It only costs a little more and the finish qaulity is 1000x better!!! Tape off only what is totally neccessary - make a true recolor - not a Earl Scheib $199 cover coat with the different color door jambs (uck)

point taken. i was debating it (like a cheap ___). i probably will do the jams and everything though. it will be getting done the right way.

as for the yellow, ya, i really like the color too, but i cant find the right flow with the body line. i dont know. its tough getting things picked out when i know ive gotta stick with it

I'd use the body line as a break point, at the rear angle up a bit with the line and meet the two colors at the bottom corners of the glass. Do both sides of the hood and where the front bottom of the hood meets the fender carry the color over the front on the fender to that point. Would be much easier than carrying the color onto the bumper like some have done (and I think would look cleaner)

- I don't have photoshop - or I'd show ya.

Don't forget to break the two colors with a good One-Shot color. (lol - now you gotta think of a pinstripe color too!)

A friend of mine just got his done. He used a yellow stripe to seperate the colors.

This seems to be the more common line used because it follows the line of the body.

You could always go with a diaganol stripe though. It would be different.

Thats pretty cool Franken. I'm just a fan of yellow pinstripe though. I dont know.

Okay Jay, this is what I tried. Is this what you're talking about?
I tried to your specs there. If not, specify what needs changed.

Oh and yea... the pinstripe will suck too :nails: Probably black or red. One of the two depending on the top color.

I have done something to mine, but I don't have pics yet...so do you want I should describe it? It's now two tone, but in a subtle way...Let me know if you want to hear more.

Alright, it's like this. You know the lower 'skirt' that goes around the bottom of the xB? (I figure there is another term for it, but I'm way too tired to know)...anyway...I got it painted TOYOTA SCION #209, which is the code for Black Sand Pearl. I also did the mirrors.

Thus, now my wing, front grill, and all I just mentioned, are Black Sand Pearl. The main color is Black Cherry Pearl.

Thus, how it is a subtle two tone. As far as I know, as of this date, 07.06.05, when I did the paint job, I am the first to do this. Now, I could be wrong. And if I am, sorry to whomever did it first.

But I have not seen any pics with this. And my fellow SCION EVOLUTION group members, think it is the first of it's kind as well.

Then...I put these wheels on:
http://www.statuswheels.com/StatusWheels/fullsize/images/rey_MB_FULL.jpg

So, the black look continues...Anyway, I had my camera stolen a while back. If nothing else, I will buy one of those cheap throw away ones to take pics.

Oh, and I did a custom Katzkin full leather interior, two tone as well...

I have been busy...

damn! quite impressive. sounds pretty cool. i could do the lower skirt along with the top. it wouldnt be subtle, but it would be pretty darn hot!

i cant wait to see the pics! sounds awesome!

Ah, well, like that, but in BSP...so I still think that I am the first one with a BCP and BSP combo.

Now, watch me be wrong with that.

That is just the bottom, correct? Nice looking Box, BTW.

I have seen a few painted boxes around here lately.

You could go for a orange color?

Maybe a solid blue color a little brighter than the BOP.

A guy i know painted the bottom half of his thundecloud xb house of kolor burple. I think thats the color. It looked good.

go wiht a chalk board type of paint then you cna color your car with chalk lol. I knew someone who did that to their car and it turned out ok looking.
