VW New Beetle or Scion XB Hello Peeps, I know that this is a crazy question but here it goes, I've been considering purchasing a New Beetle for quite some time now! As of late it seems that I've been tilting my focus on a different vehicle, the all new Scion XB!!! Now, I have been through this before when the all new Mini Cooper hit the market! But I somehow convinced myself that the MC just wasn't for me. This time seems different because the more I research the Scion XB, the more I love it! As a result this makes me ask the ultimate question, which should I purchase this Summer, a VW New Beetle or the Scion XB???

 

No contest. Price, value, room...they all lean towards the xB.

Not to mention the style factor.

Are you a girl... Girls look cute in new bugs. A chick in a box works for me too, so either way.

If you're a guy, the beetle should be out of the question.

its a volkswagen, it'll break and be expensive to maintain

 

It depends........do you want to drive a Square or a Circle

 

Even if the cars were comparable in other ways, the build quality of VW would prevent me from ever buying one.

Whatever you decide ( and it's totally up to you), I must absolutely forbid you to get the VW.

 

xB of course. Shouldn't even have to ask that one.

 

I like bugs/luv the xB. It is a blank canvas for you to let your imagination run wild. You can have fun with it, and not break the bank to run it.

 

the beetle is faster and nicer but vw's are more expensive when it comes to maintanence and have had electrical problems the last 7 years or so

 

I had a 99 new beetle that needed a new automatic transmission after 15k miles, which definitely says something about the build quality on these vehicles.

There's very little room in the back seat of a new beetle (your head smacks against the C pillar if you're taller than 5'3).

To finish it all off, they don't even get good gas mileage. If I remember correctly, I was getting about 15mpg in that car.

 

Xb all the way..

Price / friend hauling factor or speaker hauling factor

if your roll your bug your gonna roll for days and ____ it up, but if you roll your box your not gonna roll at all. just to one side and you'll slide for a bit. plus you have a lot more comfort and room in an xb. i drove my buddies mom's bug the other day...it was pretty sick because it was the turbo but still i wanted to throw a bag over my face because i was drivin around in a bug

 

I'd Go xB all the way.
