Default Dual Single DIN install - gap filling?

Hi everyone, i just installed the Power Acoustik ptid-900pkg system on my xB; the system works well, for what it's worth, it does well;

my question is with the install; the setup is a single DIN 7" monitor and a single DIN dvd player/tuner etc.

when installed one above another, they are 1/2" gapped on each side, not to mention the top stick out a bit; but im sure i can adjust that. has anyone experienced the same issue, and

what can you do about it?

plastic?
aluminum?
is there a type of install kit available?

ps. ill post pix in the morn; pls check back if you've got .02 cents

thanks all!

Tesh

You could use ABS plastic, maybe there is a kit, you could use aluminum, you could also mold the dash around the unit with mat and resin, but that is probably more work than you want to do.

i think im leaning more towards aluminum... that is, if i dont start my fiberglassing soon; then maybe resin...

plastic has got to be much cheaper and easier to use than aluminum...

if anyone has pix; please post them!

You can do 1 of 2 things :

Buy a AI dash kit for a matrix and modifiy it or you can find a metra dealer and buy the ABS that has 2 single iso holes pre-cut in the center of the set then you just shape it to the way you need it
