Finally, I took pictures - Completed paint
I took off some of the panels inside my XA to paint them white, I read the tech article, some guy with an xb did the same thing so I thought "hey, cool, weekend project". I figure my back yard is a pretty good place to do it, because you know, its got good ventilation and stuff like that. So I'm in my back yard, and I spray on the first several coats of primer. Ok, so far so good. Several layers of paint and several hours of sanding later, still looking good. Final step, spray on the clear coat. Here is where the ____ hits the fan. For some god forsaken reason, insects of all sorts are attracted to this stuff. I come back 10 minutes later to find little black specks all over my beautiful arctic white panels. I look closely, there are about 30 little bugs swimming around in the stuff.
@#$%!^@#*&^!!!!!!
lesson learned = people paint things inside their garages for a good reason.

Sand and repaint. no big deal. Start out with something like 200 grit, then some 400, then something a little finer. No need to go finer than 800. The same thing has happened to me. Just make sure the paint is really dry before sanding.
I think I said it already in another thread, I dont have a digital camera
I'm picking out the little bug corpses with a pair of tweezers, some of them left their legs and wings in the clear coat so yeah, I'm going to have to sand it down to the base color again......warrrrgghhhhhhh

Three panels are totally redone, and if I may say so myself, they are THE SEX
Last one would have been THE SEX too but a frickin honey bee landed on the panel WHILE I was painting >.<
I'm going to my friend's house today, I'll see if he will let me borrow his digital camera, meanwhile, where do you guys host your pictures? I know tripod and angelfire mess up the pics

im thinkin bout doing my interior panels red to match my red and black idea for my xa. ive used some other stuff b4 and had good and bad results. just thought id ask to see what u guys use.
well bugs are dumb as hell as we all know, they are attracted to fire, wet paint, bug zappers, basically anything that will kill them hahaha. i cant paint a rc car shell without "special 3D bug graphics". taking it inside is a good idea. i ususally put a small table fan on whatever it is i paint to help the paint dry faster.
as the knowlegable people above me have said, just lightly sand it and take it from there
