Default Is it true?

I went to three scion dealers today after I couldn't get in touch with ryan singletary at scion of slidell. Everyone of them said you can't get the base xb anymore. Im trying to get the base model with the single disc cd player but they say all xb's are being shipped with the six disc cd changer now. Can anyone confirm this? I already have a dvd flip out tv so im really trying to avoid paying that extra 205 for no reason. If so, i guess ill just have to go put a deposit down tomorrow to get my polar white xb in the new orleans area...since none of them have any in stock..thanks

I'm not a dealer but I thought the whole idea of Scion was that the dealer got base models and only upgraded one or two for show and the rest got the customer requested accessories.

My 05 was inside the dealer showroom with no radio at all. They asked me if I wanted the standard or upgraded system. The one I test drove was the same way, just a piece of cardboard saying the radios available. After I agreed to buy mine, they drove it out of the showroom, and while i filled out the paperwork, they detailed it and installed the requested radio. I then drove it home.

I think whats happening is that some dealers since they can't make much off of a scion and they are getting popular, they add accessories and tell you they can't be removed. Then they make money on accessories. I wonder what the official scion policy is?

I don't know but im having a bad experience so far. Today and tomorrow is my off day from work and im trying to buy my polar white xb but having trouble. Guess I'll drive an extra 30 mins to scion of slidell and maybe they can help me better there...thanks...anyone with any opinions on this would be apprecitated

I think its bs. . See if you can get information from SCION about it, maybe even get the salesperson to get it for you. Im sure something like that will get you what you want, try to scare them a little, ask to speak to the Gen. Man. If they say he is busy, tell them you will wait, or make and appointment. (I did that and got what i wanted and more. not about the radio though and for different reasons) But i dunno if the savings would be worth it.

Well this is what I heard from our dealer....

They didnt expect to sell so many xB's as planned. And all those xB's had single discs. So they told us they are coming with 6 disc. So since all the xB's are going to come with 6 Disc changers without an extra cost. If I were you I would take it. I mean shoot it doesnt cost any extra.

Our BOP Auto xB was built in May, came off the boat in NJ on about July 1, was at the dealer in Springfield PA on July 5. It had a single-disc player in it, and floor mats which we were told were added at the port of entry. This was their last consignment of '05s, according to the salesman.

We were also told that if we had asked for things like fog lights and the security system before the car came off the boat, they would have been added at the port of entry rather than at the dealer, which suggests that, at least in this region, Toyota has a prep facility at the port.

Back in December in So Cal, all I could find were blanks with automatic!
It's been my general experience that dealers will readily LIE to sell inventory. That's not a surprise, is it?

screw what they have in stock. go onto www.scion.com and build your own xb, then pick which dealer, then go pick it up.

xBs are shipped to dealers w/o headunits. The headunits are installed by the dealerships. Its just the dealership trying to get money out of you. The whole marketing w/ Scion is so the customer can have the car they want.

I was told the samed thing about the single disk stereo. I read on some website that they are no longer gonna sell the old 1 disks cause of the new ones are different (with a generic mp3 player jack).
and reasons above as well.

and that they we either gonna give you the six disk for a discount or no extra cost.

?????????

im getting the iPod stereo so it didn't matter to me.

dude, go there and tell these folks they are wrong. If they persist in being shady, just ask them to use a phone to call scion directly to ask them. Then put the sales person on the phone and have scion explain it to them.

I had my first xB totalled. When we got it, we got a special discount cuz my girl was still in college. When we went back for the second one to replace the totalled one they said we no longer qualified for the college student discount thing. I called bs, got on the horn to scion and they said it was all cool. Then he reluctantly gave it to us. WACK!!!
