Has anyone looked into or sucessfully installed the front overhead map light (dome light) from an xA into an xB? As we all know, the vehicle does not have one and there's no option for one, though there does appear to be a perfect place for it(even the headliner is bulged out to accommodate one. Also, if so, what would be the smartest wiring setup so that it will work independently of the rear dome light? Costs? I called my local dealer and was told the xA part is $149! This is a rip-off. Anyone maybe do this with a light from another model (I'm thinking "junkyard salvage") that looks like it belongs in the xB (maybe a Corolla or other Toyota)?
I first thought about swapping out the rear view mirror from a 89-02 Corolla, that has the two maplights in it, but the xB mirror is not window mounted like the Corolla and the ball and socket joint surely will not fit.
Help please.
