Default Canadian Buyer - Here's what I'm facing up north...

Hey all..

Gotta say first off, love the site, and have enjoyed looking at everyone's box.

SL is a great resource for someone like me, who has fallen in love with the xB since I first saw it at a concert in Grand Forks ND. I am currently in the process of arranging financing to bring a CM '05 up from Fargo. Within the last few weeks tho, I've noticed that a lot of dealers in Canada are starting to bring them up. Unfortunately, as you'll see, the prices they're charging are a little out of whack with what the price to get one, even for a hoser like myself should be... Just thought I'd let you know...

and another...http://www.canadatrader.com/result/r...&type=province

However, there is an RS02 that I would actually consider paying the money asked for...if it wasn't going to cost me an extra $5k to bring it in from Vancouver.

Again guys and gals, Happy to be here, and if I have any questions that search can't answer, I know all of you will be happy to help out...

That's exactly it. the xB is "rare" up here, so they're gouging as much as they think they can.

As I had said in my orig. post, I'm trying to get financed right now on a CM xB I found in Fargo ND. It's selling for 14990 sticker, which I figure I can get down a little lower, since I'm a Canadian, eh?
Factor in Exchange, Registration, ND State tax, Our GST, and the various "safety" related fees, and I'm looking at about 21000 all told. That is a far cry from the 25k one dealer in the city here is asking for a BCP '04.

And, the '05 I found already has the sunroof and custom exhaust done, so those are 2 things I don't have to worry about. :D

Thanks for the good words guys..

i dont think they would give you a discount if you were from thailand. Remember these peeps are on pure price, they can't negotiate these cars, however, my dealer negotiated my trade-in vehicles worth, so if you have a trade in, thats where you can haggle them. $29,000 my ___, who cares about a car statement for that much money!
