enquiry wants to know...i know japan sells these scions as ist or bb. it seems these cars find their way to singapore or malaysia but i cannot seem to find these on their toyota websites officially. do these cars being imported as gray-market cars in these countries?

 

india has a xA but its called a toyota. its the only (scion) outside the us

otherwise japan, korea i beleve have the xA/ist

 

i know only here it is called scion. i went to toyota worldwide and clicked on most of the other country websites. and none of them has a toyota bb or ist. just curious if toyota exported them here to test run the reaction before unleashing them to the rest of the world. didn't toyota do the same with lexus 15 years ago?

 

they were tested in Cali for about 9 10 months then they shiped them to the east coast then the central states.

kia did the same thing when they first came to the US

Canana doesnt sell scions yet but they will be built there so said.

none in mexico

Lexus with their first cars were sort of the same concept that the scions did. pick out two luxuary models and make a brand name to compete with lincon and cadillac. they became very sucessful as you can see. with Lexus being one of the top luxuary car models.

 

our local authorized toyota dealer here does not bring in the ist or bB... we gotta get it thru parrallel importers or so called "gray-markets"..but they are strictly legal players... they cost abit more cos these importers doesnt get the discounts since they usually buy them in lil qty..(or as per request)... but hell yeah.. its a good buy!! pure JDM!!
