maybe i should start a story, just beaten by boredom. whoever reads it enjoy... and hopefully someone reads it before this thread is gone...

me and my buddy raced with his CRX with a B16A engine (only 7000 miles on it), im not gonna brag but i did smoked him several times. he just got his car recently from the shop with an engine swap, his crx is not bad at all, it sounds mean. a sound that i would like to have on my tc.

My tC: DC Header, S Weapon-R intake, Weapon-R Damper kit, Resistor mod.
VS.
CRX: engine swapped B16A, custom intake and exhaust, sports clutch

we raced on an abandoned road (very high drug traffic there and plenty of deers to spot) and the road extend more then 1/4th mile. First day we raced only twice, i smoked him pretty bad.

day1- CRX had one passenger and me driving alone
-first race was from 0 to whatever, i was in the lead about 10 yards away, but in the first race he didnt pre-rev his engine because he wants wait for his clutch to break-in.

-second race was 10 to whatever, i smoked him clearly.

day2 we meet up again same spot this time i had 2 passengers and crx had 1; before we headed to the abandoned road again, he did a CAI trick with the BAG OF ICE, some of you guys should know about this trick. LOL

- third race from 0- whatever CRX kept up to me throughout the race and i was 5 feet in the lead. after goin 60 mph he started gain up alittle and around 70mph we were head to head, but after that i slowed down because i did not know when the road ends; if i kept goin i would be goin too fast on a turn ahead of me and possibly hit a tree. tho crx claimed he won (he also talked smack like "come on you scion piece of sh*t" lol), we had to race again.

fourth race was 0-100mph, ofcourse i stayed in the lead and he was right on my ___ throughout

fifth race i burnt him from head start, he must've messed up or something


and that was it!!! i guess that CAI ice bag trick worked abit or i had 2 other people in the car....

The fact is, unless you speak with the other driver *before racing* and set out exact criteria (start/finish line, rolling start/dig, etc etc) it's impossible to say who's car beat who. I can beat a wrx if the driver isn't paying attention, and doesn't know we are racing, and gets a late start. Or if the wrx decides he only wants to race until third gear. In neither situation should my win be considered a kill. Lastly, street racing is retardly juvenile and stupid. there are just too many stories of innocent bystanders getting killed or injured by people screwing around racing on public roads. If you want to race, take it to the track.

The reason why people hate vs/kill threads are too numerous to count...too much bs, too little fact, too many idiots talking about mods that give them 45 whp when in actuality they do nothing except take extra money out of people's pockets, and last but not least, the afore mentioned innocents who get hurt or killed when some 17 year old loses control and slams into someone.

I'm not saying that all/any of that appiles to you, I didn't read your story, I'm just letting you know why people hate hearing about kill threads.

i lost to a B16a hatch, if you beat a b16 crx, there's something wrong. My friend's b16 hatch completely stock runs high 14's, so obviously i lost.

Wow Good job. You actually beat the driver, but good job nonetheless

He's actually a member of our local Scion club (his wife drives a box). He normally does better than that. He did when first in his class, I was 7th in mine. Kind of sad though that ESP times were slower than STS times.

This past Saturday I got 2nd Place in STS. One Civic driver complained about getting "beat by a Scion." I'm sure he has more mods on his car too. I'm stock except for TRD springs and Falken Azenis on stock wheels. Then again the first place person was driving a Civic Hatch built specifically for Autocrosses. That and he has a couple years experience on me.

First off street racing is not retarded and juvenile, that makes no sense. street racing is just something fun to do. I live in wisconsin and its gets so boring, when you can get like 60 or 70 cars and go street racing in places its awesome, and i have never seen anybody get hurt, i mean it does happen but accidents happen all the time.And not everybody can just go to the track, if your on the street and you wanna race someone, are you gonna say, hey meet me at the track at 2:00 to race, thats so ___, so in finishing street racing is not retarded it can be f***ing awesome

I've beat an mr2 and a couple of civics..... i got my a$$ handed to me by my boys civic hatch with a B18 swap and of course the lambrghini diablo that i raced for fun we were stuck at a light together and he said nice car and then said we should run it so i did and lost by a lot but it was still fun

I was following my friend with a box on the interstate one time when a Ferrari got up behind me. He passed us once, then we lost him. Granted, it wasn't a straight line, we just made our way through the traffic easier in our cheap small cars than he could in his big expensive one. :wink:

Some dumb ___ hanging out of the passenger seat of his friends nissan altima 96 "ish" says to me "hey! you think that thing is quick?" me "its ok" him "so you wanna put that thing to the test?" me laffing "sure" he drops a gear and tries to out run me at about 25-30 so i drop it in second and stop his jump at about half a car and then i start to run him down passing him as i shift into third laffing thinking to myself i should be singing "no i dont want no scrub hanging out the window of his buddys ride trying to drag race me" lol i thought that was a funny kill

on that whole story i did quote "he has a brand new clutch, so he refused to pre-rev his car at launch" tho we did start a race starting 10mph and i won...

i have my damper kit on me so i guarantee a good launch....

CRX B16A hits 0-60 in 7.4 sec. im not sure whats the numbers after 60mph.. im sure it has better numbers then the tc on 1/4 mile...

me and him are gonna meet up on the drag strip (1/8 mile) tomorrow or friday... and this time its a REAL race from dead start because he should already break-in his clutch by then...


when i first got into his car and he drove, i notice he does have potential to beat me.. after those 5 races, were a bit confused.. just wait for the drag strip, then ill announce whose fast... i wish his friend would get his camera....

my bad lol.... yes i am new to this forum, the other forum i go to doesnt care about versus threads. So that is my bad... i just wanted to see people talk about somthing else other than having problems installing a CAI!?!?!?!

98 civic SI, new model V6 eclipse drop top, rsx type s, debadged integras, 318 bmw, scion xa. thats about all i can remember - i love racing any type of integra/rsx. our cars are very similar cept we have to use our torque to our advantage and get a big jump on them or else were toast. craziest race was on the GS parkway with a type s - he got scared after 4th gear.

i beat those silly neons, civics, focuses, accords, saturns etc etc of all years and stuff with the clear tail lights, insanly large spoilers, doofy chrome rims, bulky bodykits, underglows, and a fart can exhuast with the resonater taken out...so yeah...haha, thats not saying alot :silly: . My little 1.5 litter engine is to XTREME for those STI's EVOs TC and well tuned cars, they can't handle the heat so I let them win :rofl: :P j/k but really, I keep my "kills" for those guy that think they having something "special"

I dusted a Mitsu 3000 gt today on the way home. brought the revs way up, like to 6k, feathered the clutch to eliminate wheelspin, left him in the rearview....

at least, I think thee was a driver in the other car....

You people are spending thousands of dollars on mods for your tC's, so where are the "I beat an EVO" or "The S2000 driver was crying" or "The guy in the 350z complimented me after I smoked him". Those are true kill stories. No more of this "I killed a grocery-getter" crap.

so far I have only raced 3 cars. A past gen Eclipse GT(which smoked me so thats nuff said about that car), a Grand Am GT, and a 1.8T jetta.

aside from the eclipse the other 2 drivers were my friends so we knew where we were starting and where we were ending, anyways.....

first the Grand Am GT, this race really didnt impress me... we were neck and neck and we didnt really pll away from each other.
As for the 1.8T jetta 04'-05' ... i smoked him nasty. we raced twice and both times i had a big leadat the end. we would launch about the same but after that i was gone and he was looking at rear bumper!

by the way, i am completely stock still. hehe

You really have a weird state of mind. Street racing IS retarded and juvenile. Im going to admit I have street raced several times with my friends in this area... it is fun but still DUMB. So what if it gets boring over there in Wisconsin, get over it. And its really not ___ meeting someone at the track as that is the true way of seeing whos car is faster. You dont necessarily have to be like "meet me at the track at 2 to race." You can talk to the person and schedule it a week or two ahead when you both have time and bring along some more people so its more fun. Maybe YOU havent seen or heard of accidents of street racing but they are all over the place. I know your gonna street race anyways but i think its retarded that you dont think that going up to 100+mph with another car on a public road is not retarded and juvenile. Just my .02 :lalala:

I've beaten corvettes, STi's, 350z's, and s2000's... Ever bracket race? That's where its at. "Kill lists" are retarded... then people just spout off a number of cars they think they can beat with little to no proof.

lol, it takes a lot to beat a car like the evo or sti. you are talking about a raw performance car, awd, with 260whp+. Thats not easy, not easy at all...Unless you are talking about autocross, if you are experienced and know how to handle your car, anything is possible providing they aren't as skilled as you are on the track.

Example, some cars i've beat on autocross to date, some that were out of my class: Turbo accord v6, del sol, eclipse, rx-8, rsx, rsx-s, tc, camry, cobalt ss, so on so forth.

Point is: Straight line, you aren't going to beat a sports car (evo example you used) without major mods. However, autox is mostly skill with driver. Takes a lot more than just push the gas in, keep it straight, and know when to shift. :P

After I installed my dc header i took a cruise that weekend.. a 2nd gen teg w/ i/h/e from a 20 roll i pulled on him like he was standing still by 3rd i was more than a car in front, then on the ride home a red 2nd gen teg in front of me starts reving his engine so when he took off i did as well. i pulled around him and passed him w/ ease he was shaking his head at me when i went by lol made me feel good about my i/h/e i was starting to wonder if there was any difference

cars ive beat.. Evos. Sti's.. Vipers.. Corvettes, Civics, SRT10's SRT4's, MR2's ..
