View Full Version : GReddy SP exhaust for our tCs
trialsindude 07-20-2005, 01:52 AM does any one has this exhaust on their car? on greddy website they say rear section cat-back, is that just AXLE back or full cat back?
also if you do have it where did u buy it from and how does it sound?
thx
matty-tC 07-20-2005, 02:07 AM axleback. sounds great if you don't have a header. check the sponsors and marketplace forum for sales
daewonder 07-20-2005, 02:43 AM rear section cat-back aka axle-back. looks just like the stock exhaust except it's polished with a signiture SP2 style tip.
trialsindude 07-20-2005, 02:49 AM anyone has actual pics of it on a tC?
TimmyT 07-20-2005, 03:54 AM I think I've seen it on a tC but I can't remember. I'd like to see pics also. If its tucked in and doesn't sound ricey I might purchase it even though it has almost no gains.
TCRS1_0 07-20-2005, 04:45 AM I was gonna say I was lookin at the Greddy site and I still dont know what the difference is in the SP2 and the EVO . Is it just the tip style or is there something more to it ?
kungpaosamuraiii 07-20-2005, 05:08 AM Muffler type - the SP2 I believe is not a straight through design .
HKSpeed 07-20-2005, 05:33 AM bump for some pictures.
i've seen the sp2 on the new (now old I guess LOL) celica, and the canister is mounted transverse (like the stock tc/celica muffler), but it hangs really low in my opinion (the can, not the tip). anyone know if its the same on a tc?

the sp2 for our cars runs all the way to the cat. the difference from sp2 and evo2 is the pipping on the sp2 is 60mm the whole way thru and the evo2 system starts at 60mm and gradually goes to 70mm. i like the sp2 due to it's clean looking tip and deep non-ricey sound.
daewonder 07-20-2005, 07:22 AM sorry, not mounted, but a pretty damn good pic. courtesy of namotorsports.

Im assumin thats the SP2 , if it is I like it and might consider getting it
HKSpeed 07-20-2005, 05:06 PM i hate the tip lip on the SP2. the tip looks like it needs a circumcision. i dont think the tip on the sp2 has "greddy" on it. the pictured tip looks like the evo tip.
niksmr2 07-20-2005, 05:38 PM I have the SP2 on my MR2, I think it looks clean. I like how you can't see the canister, just the tips.

the greddy sp2 does have greddy engraved on the exhaust tip.
kungpaosamuraiii 07-20-2005, 11:19 PM I'm not sure but I think that "GReddy" is engraved on all GReddy products..
I also think that rsx_freak79 doesn't have a tC.. he seems too much like an RSX guy.
TCTuNeR80 07-20-2005, 11:54 PM My Greddy EVO 2 cat-back is in the mail, i'll let everyone know how it is
TimmyT 07-21-2005, 12:24 AM Wow kungpao. I never realized that. good eye.
kungpaosamuraiii 07-21-2005, 12:30 AM Thanks, I astonish even myself with my ability of obersvations.
Anyways, sarcasm aside..
Speaking of observations, I was wondering if the muffler on that SP2 is straight through or the chambered style that really muffles but.. impedes flow quite a bit.
rsx_freak79 07-21-2005, 12:38 AM I'm not sure but I think that "GReddy" is engraved on all GReddy products..

 good eye. :P

Yes he is a RSX guy, but hes polite and enjoys both cars.

thanks for the kind words and yes i like both cars.
daewonder 07-21-2005, 02:38 AM yes, that's the SP2. and yes, the greddy logo is etched in the tip.

I rarely make such a useless post as this one but I feel my joke might have been misinterpretted. I didn't mean anything else when I said that rsx_freak79 seems like an RSX kind of guy - that is to say I'm not calling him an arse or anything just that I made two obvious statements. I mean honestly, GReddy engraved on everything GReddy? Say it ain't so! rsx_freak79 an RSX guy? WTF?? So yea. I don't like using smileys because they're often just not quite what i'm feeling but needless to say I'm all smiles right now because .. well I find this funny. Perhaps now is the time for a
But damn, I'm not laughing THAT much.. in anycase, I still have a question about the SP2: straight through muffler or not? I would hope it is but it almost looks like the TRD to me which doesn't look like a straight through.. although I admit I have no plans for the SP2 but such knowledge never hurt.

i caught your sarcasm. :P as for the sp2 on the tc it looks like the trd exhaust. wonder which one would sound nicer.
dmxsoulja3 07-23-2005, 05:20 PM honestly I like the way it looks, but since were only talking axle backs here, it looks restricitive just like the stock setup, lots of bends, and big muffler. If we are scrounging up every last HP out of these axle backs the EVO seems like the better of the choices, it has smooth bends and a small little can..just my .02
mikek6789 07-25-2005, 12:10 AM how do you think itll sound with a turbo?
daewonder 07-25-2005, 02:39 AM you'll probably want a custom setup to go with a turbo.
TimmyT 07-25-2005, 02:59 AM I would go with the Evo or HKS hi-power if i were running turbo and they actually had cat back pipes. The evo starts at 60 mm and ends at 70 mm if i am not mistaken.
slammed 07-25-2005, 06:57 AM I want to run a 2.5 turbo back for my turbo. Dont want so much noise. I dont care if it holds back some hp.
BOXMAN 07-26-2005, 03:53 AM The evo is designed to gain high end HP. While the sp is for mid range according to GReedy.
