Default RS 1 Stolen in TX...story I found

Hey guys, this isn't me, but I found this in another forums.
Maybe this was posted here, but I don't remember seeing it, and maybe this
guy is a member here. In the Oznium.com forums he goes as Toastr

This is his story I lifted from the thread:

Posted: Sat Jul 16, 2005 3:52 pm Post subject: **** STOLEN!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I go to work and park on the yellow stripes as I always do, on the row farthest from the front of the store. Mostly because it's where the employees are supposed to park, but also because it's in view of the security camera and about 100ft from on of the two main entrance/exits. I come out today after work and find - tire marks. No xB, no toaster, no kitchen appliance on wheels. **** burnout marks. Then I realized that I was standing in the middle of the road and had dropped the stuff I was holding, so I snag it and head inside to watch the security tapes and call the police. I don't know HOW the thief got inside my car without breaking the windows, but SHE (yes, SHE) did... I think she picked the lock or something, but all she did was mess around with the door handle area and then open the door and get it. The resolution on the cameras isn't that great so I couldn't see in detail what she did, but at least the windows aren't busted. As far as I know... I'm just amazed that she managed to do all this with people walking past. Damn I am ****! Definitely time to get rid of that ****-___ factory alarm and snag the Viper 791x. Dammit. I called Lo-Jack as soon as I got home (kept forgetting to put my member card in my wallet), and they called me back around 5 minutes ago to say they had located the vehicle... I'm just waiting to see what kind of condition it's in I'll keep ya'll posted...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just got home - WITH the xB I LOVE LO-JACK!! They found my car in Galveston (roughly 30 minutes away for you non-Texans), and the idiot had parked it in her driveway. The only things missing were the billet grills (grr... just got them, too) and the sub box and amp. Closer inspection of the property yielded my system in her garage (she actually left the wires and took it out properly... I was somewhat impressed), but the grills are still MIA. The woman is in Harris County downtown Only other things are: 1) wrinkle on my sideskirt (right side) 2) a slight curb-check-esque scuff on the driver rear rim, which should be easy to take care of, and 3) right side UB bar no longer lights up as brightly as it should. I already have another kit in the attic for spares, so it's all good. Apparently she ................................................................................................. This had me greatly impressed, as well as scared. Ingenious thieves are terrifying... heh. At any rate, the security division AND my store managers will be getting an earful come Monday. Within 100ft of the exit AND in plain view of the camera at the FRONT of a row, and nothing was done and nobody noticed.

At any rate, I have my toy and I am happy once again. And I am getting a damned Viper pager alarm.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lo-J ran me about $730 or so installed at the dealer, and I haven't paid anything else since then. However, any monthly charges may be integrated into my car note, but if you'd like I can check and let you know just how much, if any

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a large section missing where Toastr commented on how this chick got
into his box so easily. I'm not sure I should post it, as it's for sure a weak point in
our cars, but I can say it's the same way thieves got into Fuji's box. Which tells me
it's probably pretty common knowledge with those people who break into/steal from
the xB specifically.

My suggestion all, is to get a good alarm, and have is PROPERLY installed!!

if Toastr is in these forums, please chime in with any updates brother.

Now that you know where she lives, you should go steal all her stuff while she's in jail!

Who steals an xB? God... that'd be like stealing a Pacer back in the day.

Oh well... if thieves weren't stupid, I'd be out of work.

I'd love to know how it is so easy. All I have is the factory alarm. This whole thing scares me with gas prices going up. More people want our boxxes. (FREE). If you can,t post the methods on this BB, can you PM me ?? I feel like I might know how its done, but I just want to make sure so I can protect myself.

Yep, that was mine... it's a Lava btw - RS1, not the 2. I removed the section on how she broke into it mainly because I didn't want to post such information on the internet, thus giving a basic how-to to other potential thieves... If you want the specifics, PM me or hit me up on AIM and I'll let you know...

Still no luck on my grills, they remain MIA. Had to re-tune my amp as well, but that's just about it... I'm still amazed by how cleanly she managed to remove everything.

Off topic, what's your SN on Oz Lonely?
