Ok, I'm almost positive that this doesn't go here, but I don't have enough posts yet to post in the off-topic, so if anybody can help me that would be great, thanx.

Ok, If you buy a scion from a private owner that has the 6-year 100,000 mile warranty, does that transfer over to you upon new ownership?

I believe it's up to the dealership issuing the extended warranty. My dealer does offer to transfer the coverage at no charge.

Hmm, thats an interesting piece of information. I going to be buying my Xb from a private owner most likely, yet I want that warranty, so I'll need to call around with the owner of the car before I decide to slap down the cash.

My warranty can be transferred one time to one other person for a fee of like $20.

According to the Scion.com site information on the extended warranties, the remaining warranty is fully transferable to the new owner...

Not every buyer got the extended warranty. Scion offers a 3/36 bumper to bumper. The powertrain is 5/60 ( I think) and most dealerships offer an extended warranty which is usually about 6yrs and 75-100k. The first two are standard from Scion, the last is an option at the dealership which costs money, which means not everyone got it. Some dealers do offer you the opportunity to purchase this up till 3 years or 36k. Once you find a car, just go talk to your local dealer since they all vary on their offerings.

I bought a jeep wrangler with an extended warranty 4500 miles on it. Got a good deal on the rig and even better when i sold the wartanty back to chrysler for $1200 it was a good day. You see a warranty means nothing to me ever try and have a car done with even the 3 year 36 its hard! So by quality that will never need repairs is my best advice Honda or Toyota.

If there are any left over oil changes (of the three free) they too are transferable to the new owner (within the first 36,000 miles)
