My "little" install. (56k... If you have time.)
:D Okay, for the detailed information.
-The monitor is a 15" ELO Touchscreen with credit card reader (haha.. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it... but it is cool to swipe peoples cards in Wordpad and see the embeded information).
-Spend a good 15 hours bending and welding the mount to hold the extremely heavy LCD to the dash. I'll have to get pictures of it the next time I take the screen off.
-The PC is a AMD 1700+ Shuttle,512MB of RAM, and 120GB (soon getting a 160GB external HD for easy swaping data between my home PC and the Shuttle)
-The only wire showing is the car-adaptor plug for the power-inverter. I'm getting it hardwired soon to compelete the smooth look.
-Deluo USB GPS and Gamecube to PC USB adaptors for using my Wavebird controllers for emulation
- Carl
Looks cool! I have a couple of those 15" ELO touch screens laying around the house.
I'd make a mount for the back seat, not the front though. I wouldn't be able to drive with that thing on at night....
Thanks for the comments guys!
Most of the controls (volume, track selection, etc) are controlled by the PC, so no worries about using the Clarion HU tucked away. I don't even use it most of the time.
The monitor tilts up and down allowing me to reach the AC controls and HU from below with ease.
Also, in the frontend (program I'm using to "touch" and play everything), it has a gamma controller built in. This makes it easy to lower the brightness with the touch of the screen. At night time, It's really needed to lower it by at least half the brightness.

The company I work for "Fujitsu" sells tablet laptops like that where the whole computer is like that. So i works like a Monitor by itself. It has a virtual keyboard on the touch screen and were ever you touch is the mouse. You guys should check it out. Fujitsu http://store.shopfujitsu.com/fpc/Eco...s&WT.svl=left2
My branch of work does Point of sale cash registers, so we carry like 20 different size touchscreens from 8" to 19" I'm going to get one for my front display. Also they make PC slices with laptop motherboards in them so they wont consume to much electricity! Its going to be tight when I'm done!
