the thing is, I am not sure what percent they are. the place that I got them tinted didnt list them by percents. the tints ranged from 1-5, 5 being the darkest (limo tint)

i got the front #2 and the back #3. im guessing the front is around 30% and the back looks like 15%...im not sure..but whatever :silly:

Wow, looks like the place did a pretty good job.

Any bubbles or dust specs in it though?

Man, you got pretty lucky man... Or the place where I went just sucks.... lol

The first time I went to get my windows tinted they f'd up and forgot to untuck the rubber/felt on the inside and it scratched the tint on my windows.

The second time I went back they got a whole bunch of dust between the tinting and the glass (this made A LOT of little bubles as well). I went to complain and they told me it was impossible to do a dust-free installation. I guess a could understand if there were a couple, but I mean the bubbles were just everywhere!

I really don't know what was worse - the scratches or the bubbles...

Now that I think of it probably the scratches. Because now I have BOTH bubbles and scratches on my windows!

I'm actually going to get my windows re-tinted next spring at a more reputable place.

Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack your thread... Sorry if I did. I guess I'm just venting... :gun:

You really have an awesome tint job.

wow that is horrible!!! the place where i got mine tinted never have problems like that. i got my old car tinted there, as well as my moms car. It also came with a life-time warranty! so if i get any bubbles 10 years from now, they will redo the tint! it only cost me $110 too! you should find a different tint place!

I went to complain and they told me it was impossible to do a dust-free installation.

thats BS! :blah:

Looks good. What's that under the car cover?

So your front door windows are #2 (~30%) and the back side and rear windshield are #3 (~15%), right?

Did you not go darker b/c of local laws?

yeah, i was gonna do the whole thing #3, but the guy warned me that in CA that any tinting of the front windows is illigal. so i decided to go with a lighter shade.

That looks sharp! I'm going to probably go to where my dealer get them done... I'm not a big fan of different tint values for different front and rear though... I like everything to be the same, even though it won't be as dark as it could be.

Me too. But how do you post pics? And a randum question since I see you also have a car cover over something else in your driveway? Can you put car covers over cars parked out on public roads? I 've never seen it but I want to protect the new baby

Maybe not parked on the roads themselves....

What do you mean, will I get a ticket? cause i've never really seen that. You know car covers. Scion offers car covers with the license plate available to see from a clear section..... and if so it might be okay that way?

any one with the info??

they cant give u a ticket for it if it is parked on your property. the car is parked on our driveway so its on our property. if it was parked on the street, that might be a ticket.

Your car looks really good with the tint, do you think that you will have any problems with the CHP? Some of the local cops around San Diego take a special interest in ticketing cars with tinted windows...
