Default Cruise control units/Scion warranty

I was wondering if anyone knows if one installs a cruise control unit on their box if it voids any warranty. Thanks group.

I had the dealership install one for me, erasing the possibility of voiding my warranty. It's an SCS/Frigette model and it was installed for a total of $325. Works great and makes driving the Box much more relaxing at highway speeds. I'm now able to stay under that magical 72 mph where the gas mileage is sweet.

I really do not believe a self install would void any warranty. It is a straightforward install and nothing is removed and no wires are cut. I see absolutly no grounds for Toyota to void a warranty as far as a PROPER install is concerned.

awesome. I'm looking at getting an '06, but I will only be using this car for long trips since I have a company vehicle for short trips. I really wanted this car, but the lack of cruise control is the only thing that was giving me doubts.

Will not void the warranty unless the install or CC unit was the fault of the problem.
Say you intalled it yourself and the TB is affected by the install and goes bad. That part will not be covered. So anything relating to the install or the part you installed that might have caused the problem will not be warranted.
The rest of the car is still covered by the factory warranty....

I have the same unit. Mine will not hold on long hills and the accel doesn't function either. Have you had similar issues? If so, how were they resolved?

For those who have this, how accurate is it? I've heard others complain about it not doing well on hills, and not -/+ accurately. Thoughts? I currently ordered my xB without it cause i heard this.

Dealer installed mine -- I have no idea what brand -- and sometimes it gradually picks up speed by itself. I'll look down and be going 85....
