Is this option worth the asking price of $335? Does anyone know what the labor charge is for this to be installed by the dealer?

From what I've heard, the Short ram intakes are easier to install than the cold-air, and are generally cheaper. the Injen short-ram intake seems to be pretty popular with xAs. jwa276 07-22-2005, 02:03 AM i will be installing the k&n CAI tomorrow afternoon, so we will see how it goes. ive heard that the injen short ram is the best for xB's and the k&n could be the best for the xA, so im givin it a try :D im sure that the install will be very straightforward, ive done several other installs of intakes though, including making my own designs. the hardest part is usually getting the stock airbox and ducting out of there.. which that DIY should explain how to do. -jon uber-xA-RS2 07-22-2005, 02:20 AM Jon, can you please post results on your install? I have been curious how the K&N is for install. :pray: (once you have installed it of course) :P moaiD 07-22-2005, 02:47 AM hey bro... while installing the K&N thyphoon (i assume) CAI do take note of the aircon piping... the CAI body will run quite close to the aircon pipes and at worse it may even touch! so try to shift them away..... otherwise they knock on each other... u will luuurrrve the K&N CAI once installed!! enjoy! Satmax 07-22-2005, 02:56 AM If the air conditioning lines you are referring to are in fact aluminum lines, I'd get some hose insulation from Home Depot to prevent chaffing if they actually come that close. I run an Injen, I don't have any problems with clearance. But if you want a car that is already on the dealer lot, and you want that option, you will have to pay for installation, which will depend on the labor charge of your specific dealer. We have that CAI with the Bypass valve on sale for $288.00 and that includes the shipping. It's made by AEM for Toyota-Scion. Usually the labor runs $60-$90.
