Accident in my 2006 tC ;( Update: Fixed! With new big pics
(Updated Fixed! Scroll to the bottom for the new pictures)
Sup guys,
Long time reader, frist time writer. I bought myself a 2006 bsp TC two weeks ago. I've been enjoying it immensely until today when I got hit by a 2002 Dodge Durango. I was driving to work, same way I always do, and they came out of a parking lot, I guess they didn't see me and hit me on the rear driver side. Sucks pretty majorly. Anyway, I know you guys are all about the pictures, so here you go:

The car is already in the body shop. I hope they'll be able to fix it as good as new. The bodyshop person estimated $3,000.00 in damage. The person at least apologized profusely, but still that's my new baby

the most important thing is that no one got hurt,i had the same thing done to my xb,the damage was worst than yours and it cost about the same, get is fix asap i have to see a scion with damage...
mine got hit in the right rear quarter panel....it didnt touch the fender flat though....just behind it. that looks like they willl probably find a totalled tC and chop it....meld it in with yours and then fix it up and repaint it. man, im glad i dont work for the company that is doing your body work! good luck with that. my bod shop did an excellent job on mine. just got it back yesterday after a week w/o my baby!
Sorry to see your new ride get hit like that...even if they fix it you'll still know that it wasn't as good as it once was. The good news is that the damage is relatively simple to repair...Toyota has all the new parts to replce your damaged ones. No one is going to "chop up another wreck" to fix yours...you'll get new parts and a better quality paint job to boot!
Thank you guys for all your support. :D :D
The woman from the bodyshop actually called this morning and they're going to start working on it. She said the main problem was getting the parts, that they will use all OEM, factory parts, but could take a while to get them all. She's estimated two weeks to fix the car. The toyota dealership where I bought my car is next door so at least they don't have to go far.
Thing that gets me is I drove that same way everyday for 2+ years with my old crappy car (1991 civic hatchback), and nothing ever happened. Then two weeks with the new car, BAM. Ah well. I do a lot of driving anyway for my job, about 20-25k a year. The car already had 1.7k miles on it so I guess something was bound to happen sooner or later.
Also thanks for the tip on the loss of value thing. I'll definitely ask my insurance guys and see what they say. Don't know if I'll really persue it, but can't hurt to ask.
That's it from here. Maybe I'll take some new pics after the work is completed, see how they compare.

EDIT: She just called and gave me the offical estimate: $3574.32.

Man! you dont even have your plates yet! I am sooo sorry that happened to you. DAMN DURANGO!!!
MAY HIS BUMPER FALL OFF!!! he he Best of luck man...and best wishes for the tC and a speedy recovery
my state allows for loss of value compensation, since its a brand new car and you now will never get what its worth you should ask if its part of your laws in your state, here in FL the at fault owners insurance pays it.
technically it is illegal for an insurance company to raise your premium once they've set it, without you making changes to it. so the durnago's insurance shouldn't go up... and def go for the loss value, you'r insurnace won't mind because they will get it from thier insurance.
