i know its a stupid question, but ive been doing research fro a month now since this will be the first jap car i will by, its going to be a cruiser. 16g isnt that much, but from the test drive was the ride as harsh as my lowered VW. And i was reading posts about chipping paint and windshields. how can i prevent that if i do get an xB, and what suprises have you found with the car. Also what dealer options did you get. i'm just thinking cruise control and maybe a sunroof,.

Factory sun roofs are expensive.. say 2k, you can get aftermarket cruise control for around 250-300 is what I've seen it for. Rock chips? what can ya do ya know? Pretty much unless you leave it in the garage its gunna get chips here and there. Gunna sound weird, but anyone in this forum will tell you that lowering coils improve the ride 100% over stocks, mine is lowered 2" with goldline coils, and it rides great, other coils to look into would be tien, tanabe, and spy. But they definitley improve the ride!

You can get a clear bra by 3M. That should help for the front. The windshield....its gunna happen. Have you test drove the man. and auto? You have to see them in person.(colors and size)Just dont expect price breaks because of addons.Get what you need.

The answer to the first question is yes. They are great cars. The options should be none from the dealer as they all are available cheaper on e-bay and other sources online. Keep the monthly payment as low as possible so you can always be on time with the pmt even if the economy turns worse. You can always ad options, and if you want dealer opts you can always get them at the same price. For the big ones like a sunroof, you may want to finance that one, if you can pay outright, do that.

none of the factoy options are worth it. the base model has all the necessities. drive it for a while, and if yu decide later that yu want one of the options, yu can always go back.

Welcome to the party! You will love the box, great cars. We have had no cracked windshields yet, and paint chips have been minimal, the 3m clear mask is a good idea though. As for dealer installed stuff, from Scion I like the interior light kit, blue has been my fave so far, the AEM cool air intake adds some noticeable low end grunt, and it is really nice looking, I also really like the 6 disc changer with the ability to change the illumination color. These parts are also a bargain, especially when you consider that the installation requires drilling, and cutting interior parts, relocation of the mass air flow sensor for the AEM, not to mention that it all becomes a warranty item if installed at the time of purchase. As for the ride, we have had great experience with spy 2.1" lowering springs, the ride is not compromised significantly and camber remains in line. Their product is warranted for life, and their customer service is excellent. We charge $378 for them installed so they are also a bargain. Scion does not recommend adding a sunroof, however I have seen it done in the aftermarket. If you like to customize cars this thing is a blank canvas!

Please tell me they've improved the interior light kit. I saw one of the Factory jobs and its ONE measly LED shining down a tube. I bought a pair of LED tubes at Target for 15 bucks that are 5 times brighter and installed in 10 minutes with zipties. Looks just as good, actually better than factory and a HUGE price difference...

Got mine practically bone stock and I've saved at least $100 dollars on each of the mods I did myself. Just ordered a set of foglights for $208, what's the dealer charging???

I cant speak for the other dealers on hear, but I dont "hate to hear this". Some people like to get them bone stock and fix them up themselves. You'll definately save some money that way. But not everyone has the time, energy,knowledge, ...etc to do all this stuff themselves. Also, it seems like a lot of people appreciate being able to get all this stuff integrated into there payment. It all boils down to what the customer wants. You always wind up paying for conveinance wether its @ a dealership or at

The factory fogs are $350 installed. The Scion LEDs we have installed include 4 tubes and put out a lot of color without being distracting. I don't mind the aftermarket at all, in fact our demo xa, and xb have a ton of aftermarket parts on them, but I do like some of the Scion parts as well. We also sell a ton of aftermarket stuff, and make a point to offer prices that are competitive with internet pricing. The problem with the aftermarket is that some of the stuff we have tried has not been the highest quality, so we pick and choose what we carry, as a regular Jo or Jill this would be an expensive way to research what companies and products are excellent, so I would ask someone who has tried the thing you consider buying before jumping in.
