Default tC iPod connection Question

I am getting ready to buy a 2006 tC. It comes with the iPod connection and when i was at the dealer i told him i was putting in some 12's. He said it's not a good idea to get a new head unit because the iPod connection will no longer work. has anyone had this problem?

I think it's too new to answer this yet.

I don't think anyones gotten the new HU with IPOD connection yet!!

How are you connecting the amp for the 12"

If you get a speaker level to line level adapter, or an amp that
has that built in, it won't effect your HU or IPOD in the
slightest!

Any sort of adapter that goes onto the back of the HU could
cause a problem.

I have no idea how the 12's are going in to be honest. i don't know too much about sytems and stuff. Before i pick up my car from the dealer, they're taking it down to a professional audio place and letting the pros put the system in.

actually i talked with pioneer... the OEM ipod will only wirk with the OEM ipod stereo. youll have to get an aftermarkt connection kit that is compatable with you new HU.

here is the email i got from them:

just keep the oem unit, and get an adapter for the amp, or u can just use an amp that uses speaker level inputs.

Thats what im doing.
