Hi everybody,

I'm new to the ScionLife Community and I recently turned 16 and got my Scion xB. I really want to put rims on it because i dont like the look of the wheel covers. If anyone can, let me know which rims would be easiest to install, cheapest because im evidently on a low budget, and biggest for the xB's wheel well.

Thanks, Dego_Red

Another alternative to wheel covers are trim rings. Cost me around $40, they just snap on, and they don't look half bad. Gonna keep sporting these until I've saved a little after the wedding... :D

Yup, trim rings will do alot for the looks of the xB for very little money.

The cheapest tire/wheel combo I've ever seen was around $700 in 17 inch.

Or you could go smaller, say 15s, for around $500

But if you want something larger/nicer, just save up your money and get the rims you really want.

What size/depth are those trim rings?

Where did you get them from?

Save up and get something good. Stance and wheels are the most important things on your car. Do them right.

These are from Checker/Kragen/ not sure what it might be called where everyone else lives. They were 12.99 each size 15's with half inch lip. {some have smaller lip} the chrome lugs came from WalMart for 3 something for a set of four. Size D. :D

My husband has gotten a lot of compliments on those things.

LVScionGal, loving the fuzzy yellow dice!

That's my husbands idea of a bit of Vegas! LOL!

He also says the beauty rings are old school style so the dice add to that look. lol

He's funny and taking entirely too long to decide on wheels.

Sry ScionGal, ive heard that unlowered, xB's can handle 18's.

you can fit 20s LVScion. You just gotta check and recheck offset to make sure its right. Then you'll probably have to roll the fender and get some skinny skinny tires. But yes you can roll 20s. Theres a couple people on the boards here with them

Ummm what do you mean by roll the fender? And what is offset??

So on 20's the box can not be lowered it has to stay stock right??

Thanks guys!!!

sexyscionlover

no it can be lowered. just has to be the right set up. im not sure what that is but i think TRDs and 20s you could do.

Roll fender (what im led to believe is) is hammering or flattening a piece of metal or other material as to make more room. I've never done it though so my word maybe crap.

Offset is backspacing in a way. i dont if you stay between +35 and +20 offset you should be fine. no offense, but by the question you ask, i dont think this would be the best idea for you. dont take offense to that because it wouldnt be a good idea for me either. talk to some of the other people running 20s (you can tell by looking in gallery) or just search on here. you should be able to find it

I know where to get them! lol

One of those RS2 is mine. :D

We purchased the BEAUTY RINGS from Checker Auto in CA that would be KRAGEN AUTO PARTS.

They were 12.99 each and you would need size 15". The ones we have, have a half inch lip on them so have less so make sure all four match. The lugs came from WalMart size D's.

We did the SE Scavenger Hunt on Saturday and OMG my husband got soooo many comps on those things. They were hit! lol Every where we go someone says something. He really likes the look.

Good luck!

OH MY BAD, you posted that stuff before huh, lol, well thanks, you're my new hero, i'm SO getting some of those on saturday. I just put my stock steelies back on bc one of my rims bent, the ride is SOO much smoother, AND it's got less of a gap (i've only got a 1 1/2 inch drop)..so hey, more gap, and a small lip=very nice. Thanks. :-D
