I'm a conservative driver but I've noticed a "tighter" and more precise feel when cornering. The sort of change that leaves one wondering what springs could do (nooooo, here I go again). I also noticed what seems to be an increase in vibration coming through the steering column -- nothing major though.

do you reaally have to do all that? or is that just an "easier way" to get to that back nut. I'm willing to bet that it probably takes about the same time either way. that back nut is a b***h to get to :?

i also did it the same way. But i think that if you had a hydrolic jack it would be faster doing it that way. By taking off the windsheild wiper assembly it is a b***h since one or two bolts is being blocked by the assemble.

How long did it take you to do? Using a jack took less than 30 minutes.

I'm pretty sure it's heavier than the Randode Racing strut bar. (The Randode is stainless steel, which is waaaaaaaayyyy more expensive than plain carbon steel.) But both are quite solid.

The instructions actually recommend jacking the front end up while loosening that back nut. Eventually the studs will drop down just enough to get the nut on and off. But (a) I wanted to do something different and (b) I needed an excuse to disassemble something. :wink:

I'm guessing that this way takes slightly longer than the jack method. Total time: about an hour, much of it spent taking photos and looking for a 3" extension.

I have the same bar and love it. It's strong as hell. I stood on the damn thing after I installed it on my car and it wouldn't flex no matter how hard I jumped on it :D

Why would you do it the easy way and deny yourself all that fun? :wink:

I did mine today with a jack and took maybe ten minutes. After I loosened all the bolts, I jacked up one side until the wheel was maybe 4 or 5 inches from the pavement and then pressed down with my knee on top of the tire just enough to make the strut go down and slip the bar over the bolts. Started the bolts, lowered the jack, repeated other side and tightened all bolts. I couldn't center the hyd. jack because the car is lowered and I couldn't get the jack underneath far enough. You could use your car jack and do this meathod, it was easy just don't press down too hard and get your strut bolts misaligned, it may be hard to get back into the holes but I doubt it.

Oh yeah the bar is rock solid.

Dude I did mine in like 10 minutes on a lift at a friends shop.

Is this wrong? Can someone measure that thing really well so I can rip it off and make one from 4130 tubing? I think it looks really solid, but I can make these things (with Daddy's help), seems like it'd be fun.

Holy crap! I write software! I can't make real things from scratch. Just pretend things. I suppose you're right though, I just liked the looks of this one, but I can make one in the spirit of this one and then everyone's happy I suppose.
