Default What alarm system are you running?

I am looking for an aftermarket alarm and being that it has been 5-6 years I am wondering where and what alarm you guys have gotten,

I gave my local Best Buy a call and they told me I should get the Avital 2200 which has all the basics for $209 installed.

My only fret to that is I have used other cheaper alarms before (Prestige, Bulldog) and the key chain thing quit working after a couple years so I am wondering if anyone has used this Avital one.

I really like Viper alarms but they are just overkill for me right now as I don't have the cash or really the need.

I think you should stick with DEI. Avital is made by DEI, so you should be good. I have a cheapo 2 way alarm that's acting up on me. I have to be less than 10 ft. away from my car to disarm it. That is why I'm getting a Clifford RS3.5 installed this weekend with remote start and remote windows. Go to www.directed.com to see all of the alarms DEI makes. I'm pretty sure you'll find one in your price range.

im using the viper 650XV. im satisfied with it overall: it's sensitivity (no constant false alarms, but goes off when it's supposed to), the remote range, it's ease of use, etc.

Clifford Matrix 3.5.
Didn't get the remote start option, I have a manual.
Love the distance you can use it with. Walked all the way up to my apartment with groceries before realizing I forgot to lock the car. Locked it from there!

I also have a Clifford Matrix 3.5. I did not wire up the remote start either
because of the manual tranny I have. Great alarm and even better warranty
support from DEI.
