I was washing my tc yesterday and after using some spray wheel cleaner for my rims (Meguilars) then rinsing and drying the rotors on my disk brakes were a fugly orange rust color. I got back in their and scrubbed but it was a real pain. Anybody have a reccomendation for a wheel cleaner that wont leave this type of residue or how I can prevent it?
that just builds up when u havn't driven your car. once you start driving your car and braking that will go away.

^^ He's right. They go away as soon as you drive it. It rusts even if you don't use a wheel cleaner.

Don't use any chemicals, since your wheels are practically new. Just stick to simple soap and water and clean often before the grime builds up.....

Also, a little wheel wax, or even touch-up spray, to protect the clear coat will make cleaning brake dust off easier....

I've seen wheel cleaners take clearcoat of the wheels.

water. just water and a soft cloth. but do it every day or two to remove brake/road dust. no chemicals, soaps etc. if you tend to the wheels regularly, you will not need any chemicals....soap included. (and wipe the back of the spokes as well.)

clean the stock wheels is a major PITA. guess it would be a little better if i cleaned em up daily instead of letting it get caked up.

I discovered (by accident  ) that using windex on the wheel will give it a nice glossy look. Just wash with soap and water then dry. After, just spray on some windex (or other window cleaner) and wipe it dry with a paper towel.
Thanks for all the replies
