Why? Its a yota but only sort of....

 

You can get the same wheel as the bB in japan from some toyota models (I want to say a 2002 corolla, but you should check). Someone's done it on here.

Theoretically the airbag should work with the new wheel, which is always a plus.

My friend just wrecked his 2003 corolla. Won't that one fit? It looks close to the original toyota wheel, but the difference is the toyota emblem is in a circle with dimples around it instaed of the oval.

 

The airbag in my Matrix is the same dimensions. I'm pretty sure Toyota uses the same plugs for their airbags across the model line.

I almost switched out steering wheels on the Matrix since I have a MOMO wheels sitting here for it.

The Matrix steering is perforated also, prolly the same as the Corolla and Celica.

 

i wish they made just a stick on emblem or something so i dont have to mess around with taking off airbags and crap

i can see it now: "one clip, two clip, and pull it slowly and *POW*." thats where the airbag hits me in the face.

did you have to change the whole wheel or just the emblem? looks like an xb wheel...

 

Dude, Chill! The airbag takes like less than 5 minutes to change. Just disconnect the battery and wait 2 minutes. Remove 2 torxs screws and the 2 wires. EASY!!!! The wires have clips that must be popped up before the wires will disconnect though. It's real simple. Honest.

 

I changed out the steering wheels on the Scion w/o disconnecting the battery. The aftermarket Scion wheel feels ALOT better than the plastic skinny one.

 

At 1AM with a flashlight...

 

I know, I have too but just to be on the safe side the directions from Scion says to disconnect it. Better safe than sorry!

Those are the OEM toyota bB *****, got them from japan.

I just changed out the airbag assembly. I agree with jethro B, diconect your battery. You wouldn't want that airbag to explode in your face or arm. bBted helped me out at the Scion Central with this one. Scion john was there too, we went to luch after. :D Had to celebrate the new mod with great friends.

 

Great Mod. I wonder if you could just go to TOYOTA, you know, like a dealer, and get them to do that...And how much...
