Default Did You See That Turbo TC!!!!!!!

Any one see the Turbo TC in the Sept Issue of Modified Magazine? It had 434 whp at 6250 rpm and 376 fpt at 5400 rpm! If I remembered correct this is what the numbers where. All I have to Say Is I want that set up!

Does any one have this set up, and do those numbers sound right?

Its the scionspeed tC. Read the article instead of just looking at the pictures and you'd know. The stage 3 kit (what that tC is using) is like 6gs, and other modifications like a limited slip differential and 700 hp capable clutch. Also the tC ran low 12s under a conservative boost. I think 14 psi? When they have had the boost set all the way up to 19 (at wich point the pressure actually started to lift the head).

Actually ScionSpeed ran their 12sec run at 15psi. Even more impressive was the 12.1sec run made by ZPI using only a stage 1 kit, clucth, springs, and slicks at 14psi.

Stage 1 kit, clutch, flywheel, slicks, no down pipe and that's it.

Blue one with Bride seats, Speedstar wheels and Spearco FMIC is the Sport Compact Car project tC. There are several turbo tCs out there - the ScionSpeed one that ran 12 seconds is white and the ZPI one is a Flint Mica.

ScionSpeed car also ran that time with a custom car show stereo system including a not so light JL Audio W7 subwoofer.

? A open header on a turbo car? How does that happen to work out? I could see a open exhaust on the thing, but not a open header.

quick question, fwd cars have a lot of work cut out for them. braking, accelerating, and turning all on the front tires. how does a fwd car with that much power handle?

Well, traction becomes a problem. The ZPI car was good for 11s if it had an LSD. You need good tires, LSD, and a decent suspension and you'll be o.k, Without them you'll probably spin your tires through every gear.

Our car went 12.12 with our stage one kit, clutch, tein s techs and a set of slicks. Thats it. Full weight car. On pump gas to boot. The car was only pulling 1.9 60's and had more then enough power to go 11's if the traction had been there.

It was running an open down pipe. The stock exhaust was still on the car, just not connected.
